The restaurant L'Escapade has recently reopened under new management and chef. It is open each day from Monday through to Saturday for lunch although evening and Sunday opening can be made on request. The restaurant is light and airy the decor simple but elegant it can manage around a maximum of 35 covers. This is our second visit to this restaurant, which is ideally suited near to the Tramway stops at Cathedral and the Division de Fer. The service is excellent and personal the tables set out simply without pomp. The menu changes a few time during the week to reflect what is fresh at the market and as all good restaurants should be every dish is cooked to order from fresh produce sourced locally, much is Bio or Organic produce. The Menu is straight forward with 3 choices of entrée and usually 3 main dishes similarly with desert. The entrées are to die for nicely portioned as to not spoil the delights to come from the main course. Marie the Chef des all her own cooking and puts a great deal of thought into her dishes; the portions are ample but never too much nor too little. Deserts are just sublime and the wine list simple with wines bought in that one would not find usually so a whole new experience. The whole experience is at a very reasonable price from A-Z, one can enjoy an unbelievable eating/dining experience at a very affordable price. For me it is perhaps one of the best if not the best restaurant in the region, it is French Cuisine at its simple best with local produce bought fresh every day and not airy fairy Nouvelle Cuisine. You will not be disappointed with the experience, its The Tops.
