Zaffran Restaurant - Navi Mumbai

We went there with a friend of mine for dinner. The ambience is good . Nice decor in hues of browns and greys..We ordered dal taḍka and panner tikka masala. Good was yummy no doubt but we are not so fan of spicy dishes. Though the waiter warned us for the spice , we asked them to keep medium in paneer but it was still on higher side for us . So if you also ignore spicy food ask the waiter to keep it low while ordering. The quantity was impressive. Overall a good experience.

We had lunch here recently. Food is very good. My wife liked Chicken Shorba the most. I am little disappointed with Chelo Kebab we ordered. This is not the chelo kebab, it is known everywhere. Ambience is good,

Lovely ambience and setting . Staff was friendly too but the food arrived cold both times ( starters and mains ) Melts cheese on sliced mushrooms did not even get any closer to the description.

I have previously visited this restaurant and my review dated 17th April 2015 was positive. However my recent visit gave me a impression where I don't think that I would want to visit them again. Things have changed drastically and basic major problems have seeped in which I guess are now difficult to turn around.The most visible reason is that they have lost good guys. The existing ones are not trained, nor efficient and result is that they least bother about their customers.The plates which were placed on the table were dirty yes I they had black spots like when you store them for a while. I just just couldn't imagine that a so called up market restaurant cannot have clean plates? No money with them to have good quality plates in spite of charging the price to the customers? After bring to their notice the servers attitude was why the help are you bringing this to my notice? This chap started justifying on top of it without accepting the fault. Finally had to raise my voice and tell him that can he have food in the same plate if served to which he went back and changed the plate after sorting from the stack after spending good 5 minutes.Food quality has downgraded as well. The order takes ages to come, let me tell you that the restaurant had customers filling half the capacity. General cleanliness has gone down. The sweeper was trying to sweep when customers were having food while most of them were ok baring a few of us who had to tell him not to sweep near our table till we finish. I felt the manpower with them is at the minimum seems like cutting the costs.Overall I am really disappointed to write such a negative review. While I was very positive about them in 2015 things have changed drastically. I would suggest to avoid this place if possible.

I am a longtime Zafran fan and usually dine at Crawford market branch while in mumbai. The items ordered at in orbit mall outlet was bland and was not upto the mark. I was disappointed, hope the management reviews food being served.
