Black Circle Cafe - NEW LAMBTON

My husband I went to Black Circle about 18months-2 years ago and loved the place...great Peaberries coffee and really friendly staff. Not sure what has happened to the friendly staff but have been back twice and each time encountered a really rude, disinterested female staff member. First time we went there and didn't acknowledge us at all and we had to stand at the counter waiting for some sort of eye contact. Finally she walked over but didnt smile or say hello. Anyway, we all ordered food and it took 30 mins (couple of panini). Six months on we thought we would give it one more go thinking the friendly woman may be working but no as soon as walked in "she" was there - exactly the same treatment. No acknowledgment, no smiles and then once order our coffees she strolled over and dumped them on our table so hard that the coffee spilt over on to the saucer. No apology, no "would I like another saucer, nothing. Wow ! We watched out of interest how she treated others as we thought maybe its just and ageist thing possibly....I am 46 and my husband is 55. Hmm, the next guy in his twenties definitely acknowledged and a vage smile; the next guy who was about 40 and a bit "daggy" I guess just in basic work pants and shirt was not acknowledged either. Who knows. Anyway, if I was the owner of Black Circle I would be really worried if you think that this young woman is doing your business any good, She also chatted and laughed with the other worker there and few friends who walked in. She was discussing her penalty rates quite loudly. Would be nice if she could smile at the customers ! This place used to be good ...maybe it has changed hands but we wont be back and neither will our family who joined us on the last tortuous visit.

Had a great coffee here on route to work on a recent business trip. It was a smooth creamy latte. Highly recommend if staying in executive inn as it's only 5 minute stroll away

I really wanted a good coffee in a cup and somewhere to sit and drink it while my little one was settled and happy too. I found it at this cafe. Great coffee, my 3 year old had a milkshake which was only $3. I sat in the playroom with her while She played and sipped her milkshake and I drank my coffee.. We were both were happy. Didn't try any food but would be happy to go back.

Came here for a morning coffee to start the day off. There was plenty of seating and good vibes. The staff where really happy and nice. Coffee... so delicious! Just what I needed! Great little coffee spot!

Usually my favourite coffee, almost sweet without sugar. Poached eggs very nice. free papers to read.
