Contribute FeedbackEvangeline offers a mixed experience with food and service. While some found the food well-prepared and enjoyable, others found it lacking. The bottomless mimosas and friendly staff were highlights for many. A few diners were disappointed by dishes like the gator po-boy and felt the service overshadowed the meal experience. The bread pudding beignets were a consistent hit, with one diner calling them the best thing they've ever eaten. Overall, Evangeline offers a diverse menu that caters to various tastes, with standout dishes and a welcoming atmosphere making it a recommended spot in NOLA.
While visiting New Orleans back in October, we popped into for drinks and appetizers. Service was incredible, we were deeply impressed by both the host and our server, their names were Dave and Alex. They both made our experience unforgettable, and we left feeling cared for and nourished. And of course the drinks and the food were great too. I had a mezcal cocktail and fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits. Total heaven ????
The food was average at best. My husband had pasta Evangeline which was really good, but our other dishes were so so. I had the red beans and rice which was supposed to have sausage in it. There were only 3 small pieces in it. Our son had the blackened redfish. It was overcooked and under seasoned. The fried okra appetizer was pretty good. Service was very good.
We were told by our food tour guide to try grilled oysters. Holy smokes amazing. Everything we tried here was amazing. We'll be back for brunch in the AM. Alex took amazing care of us. And David is a character and a half.
Alligator bites were delicious (small portion though) Pasta is heavy garlic Jambalaya is spicy. Pimm?s cup was refreshing after heat all day. Overall fun time eating and enjoying a bar-like atmosphere
Very nice atmosphere. Service was great. We got the gator po-boys and gumbo. Maybe we didn’t get their best dishes but they were a 3/5. The bread pudding beignet was the best part of dinner. We absolutely loved it!Food: 3/5
