one of my favorite weekends is for oysters with hubby. Happy hour is great and the oysters are better (both raw and free of carbonic acid) than those in other popular restaurants that are not mentioned in this review. more bartender are wonderful and the oyster blade is the best. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Blue Crab Restaurant And Oyster Bar:
I was disappointed to come here on Sunday. long wait and no crab elements in the menu. I chose the side and both ordered seafood plates. the sea fruits were seasoned well. the cup of rubber and mac and cheese was good. the crab trap was strong. the grottes were overcooked and the cheese did not help. I was told the salat came with tomato and gurken. it came only with the one tomato disc. View all feedback.
The restaurant offers a great happy hour special from Tuesday to Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30pm! They have $0.90 oysters and $1.25 charbroiled oysters. I ordered 6 dozen oysters and a dozen charbroiled oysters, and they were served quickly. The service was excellent. The gulf oysters from the area were large, plump, and tender. I also tried the tasty eggplant spears. The restaurant is located by the water, so you can enjoy delicious seafood with a nice view and ambiance. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in New Orleans and a fan of oysters.
We arrived at the restaurant just before noon on a Sunday and were promptly seated. The place started to get busy quickly after that! The service was excellent, our server was very attentive to our needs. I decided to try the combination of catfish and shrimp. The catfish was fresh and flavorful, unlike the Swai fish that many restaurants serve. My wife ordered the Blue Crab Pasta and was very impressed with the quality. I highly recommend this local restaurant!
I met an old friend here on my visit to the area. He highly recommended The Blue Crab and it was true to form. We started with a dozen raw oysters. They were huge, fresh, and the accouterments were perfect. We also had a dozen broiled? Oysters and they were equally delicious, although the bread was a bit firm. We then shared crab cakes and each had a cup of the chicken andouille roux soup. The service was good, the hostess was great, and the nicest waiter ran my hat out to me when I left it behind. Great views of the marina!
My family and I visited this place for my lil niece graduation party back in May. We had 2 table of guess and our waiter was magnificent. I don't know how they do it, but everyone's food got to them at the same time. They handled our party like a champ. We were never over looked or as where our waiter was. This is not my first time at Blue Crab, and I must say, every time I have eaten here it was been a wonderful experience. From the beautiful rooftop views to the wonderful food. Everything on the menu is good. This time I was so hungry, until I ordered shrimp pasta, thinking it wasn't going to be enough, I ordered fried fish as well. I was sadly mistaken, because that bowl of pasta was huge. I had a lot of leftovers.
Eating delicious food while overlooking the water is top-notch. The blue crab dip is fantastic!
