Contribute FeedbackTiffin Wallah in NYC offers a mix of experiences. The exterior and interior are not impressive and cleanliness is an issue. The staff, decor, and ambiance are average but the food is delicious and reasonably priced. The South Indian vegetarian options are particularly popular. The lunch buffet is a great deal and the variety of dosas is a hit. The service can be efficient, but there have been instances of awkwardness. In comparison to other South Indian restaurants in Manhattan, Tiffin Wallah stands out for its authenticity and flavorful dishes, making it a recommended spot for vegetarians and Indian food lovers.
Very creative Menu, vegetarian gluten free so many options I will have to go back to dine many times to try everything!
A little overy priced but over-all the quality of food is good. We'd Spring roll Dosa which I'd recommend to everyone and Biselibath which was tasty but had very large pieces of vegetables and Drum-sticks which we didn't really like.
I recently visited Tiffin Wallah for the second time and had another incredibly delicious dining experience. They offer a variety of dishes from both North and South India, including Punjabi and Gujarati curries as well as dosas and uppatham. To start, we ordered a couple of chaats (channa and papri), both of which were good but the papri chaat was a standout. We then enjoyed dosas (masala and gunpowder) and choke bhature, all of which were fantastic. For dessert, we had rasmalai, halwa a la mode, chai, and coffee. Everyone left the restaurant happy, satisfied, and completely full. It was truly a delightful evening filled with delicious food.
First visit to Tiffin Wallah was outstanding in every respect. Delicious food; peaceful atmosphere; friendly, courteous, helpful staff. Pakoras were light and flavorful. First time having a dosa, and it was crazy good. All other sides and condiments were perfect. Definitely will be headed back next time in Manhattan, thank you Tiffin Wallah!
Tiffin Wallah never fails to impress! I visited with a group of four recently and we tried various chaats, dosas, and a Punjabi curry. The food was delicious and I appreciated being able to enjoy chai or Kingfisher beer with my meal. The overall dining experience felt authentic. The Papri chaat was perfectly seasoned and my dosa was filled with flavorful masala potatoes. My only criticism is that the sambar wasn't as tasty as the one at Madras Saravanaa Bhavan. However, it was still satisfying.
