The service can be a bit slow during peak times, but the food is generally good, with well-prepared meat in the tacos, tasty rice and beans, and a flavorful skirt steak fajita. Some dishes, like the rancid aguachile, may miss the mark, but there are standout items like the pork belly and fish entree. The restaurant offers a range of options including vegetarian dishes and great drinks at reasonable prices. Enjoy cocktails in a curbside tent before heading off to a show, and don't miss out on the miso-tequila glazed cod and delicious tacos for a memorable meal. Overall, Toloache is a solid choice with a mix of hits and misses, making it a good spot for various occasions.
Great little place that is priced I feel just right. Staff was great and the food simple but AMAZING!! I wanted to have more but no room at all!!
Came here for a mother's day dinner! We got the traditional guacamole (not mind-blowing, but good , the Quesadilla de Pollo, the Camarón and Suadero tacos (delicious! , and finally the flan (very good! . My aunt got a traditional mojito, which was very refreshing The quesadilla was filling and delicious, but the real highlight for me were the tacos! It's a splurge for a meal, but would highly recommend for a special occasion! The service was really good as well!
I got the vegetarian tacos and the pumpkin rice. Highly recommend the pumpkin rice—so flavorful and so hearty, one of my favorites! Tacos were a bit tinier than I expected but overall great taste. Also pretty close to Times Square but not close enough for it to be super packed and touristy. Would go back!
My fiancé and I unexpectedly had time to kill near the theater district. (Turns out, our tickets for Book of Mormon are for tomorrow. Oops) So we used our friend, Google, and found Toloache nearby. We tried pineapple mezcalritas, mango mezcalritas, guacamole, shrimp tacos, lobster tacos, and rice and beans, along with a delicious tomato-based salsa. My favorite was…. Everything! I would give 7 stars if I could. We even complimented the chef personally. The service was great as well. Highly recommend.
Just do it. Don't think about it twice, just do it. Listen carefully to the special, because chances are it'll be amazing. We were here on a busy Saturday night without a reservation and the service was amazing and quick. The food was something else, try the house margarita.
