Where should I start?Service: appalling. Just didn't care. The waiter was either totally rude or on a different planet. Can't quite work it out. Too interested in telling you how lucky you were to get a table, even for lunch. However, it seemed that local people were treated much better. Haven't they moved on from 20/30 years ago when the Côte d'Azur had the reputation to have 2 sets of standards and price lists? One for the local and one for the tourists? Probably worth mentioning at this point that we live in Paris, I am French myself and my husband is British and it has taken me a long time to come over here on holiday, precisely because of that reputation. Food: Totally overrated. Had petit farcis niçois, they were ok. Then I was told that tuna was not available, no alternative, so decided to have prawns. I had 3 gambas cut in half, smothered in olive oil and a few bits of basil on top of it. My husband fish soup was tasteless and greasy and the croutons probably last week's left over. His main course of calamaris was the kind of dish you expect from a cheap back street tapas bar. Not even a slice of lemon to go with it. Bread was nice though!Food presentation: non existant.Drinks: cheapest and only half bottle was 35€. Then apparently no large jugs of water were available that day so you almost had to beg for water. Had the dishwasher broken down or were they forcing you into buying bottle water? I wonder...Crockery, etc: chipped glasses and crockery about the same standard as you would find in a rented property. Should have taken pictures to illustrate. Atmosphère and décor: sat on table on the edge of a terrace and the only view was a wall with people sitting down eating take away paninis. Atmosphère was non existant.Bill for this pathetic lunch was 136€. Absolutely ridiculous and overpriced. Dinner at the Negresco last night was cheaper and the whole package was like day and night.I know that this place is busy and I have seen some very good reviews ( as well as very bad) but I have not been so disappointed in a restaurant for years. I must have been unlucky.Would never go back and certainly not recommend it. Then again, I don't suppose the management would care about that kind of comment as they certainly didn't seem to care about anything else.
•Food: -No exquisite taste;reputation much overrated -Fresh ingredients -Fine presentation •Service: -Very slow -Cold food served -Orders come after several requests-new plate for example or clean silverware •Staff: -Friendly -Shortage in staff during peak times(summer) -Needs more organization and training •Ambiance: -Nice garden limited view
This is definitely one of the hot spots in Nice. We had made a reservation but it was still very hard to get a table once at the restaurant. It was like a fight to get a seat once there! The waiter was ok - attitude to the core and it doesn't seem as though they really care about your experience, feels more like it should be a privilege that have gotten a seat. The food was good, but my husband got stomach sick from the Sea bass fish he ate. I enjoyed my lobster pasta.Definitely seen and be seen spot, so if you want to go for that - this is the place to be. For fine dining and wine, there are definitely more interesting spots in Nice.
Difficult to note average for this restaurant. Beautiful location, terrace and interior, beautifully decorated. As the boss wasn't here tonight, we didn't know any of the misadventures described in the other comments we had heard about. Very nice service, attentive and smiling, fast. Smiling welcome of the young woman with the charge.Pleasant card and giving desire for all taste. Afterwards, the little stuffed aplatis with an identical taste for all, it is medium. The zucchini flowers were still a little thick. The little tuna paved, tiny, and cooking didn't spill me from my chair. I had room for dessert, which is rare. This is probably the goal, but here we do it only once.Because the addition, obviously with a good bottle of wine (card of classical wines but really good), it is the pounder. He seems to have to go once, it's done.
