Recently in April we stopped in at the Nipigon Esso for breakfast before we went back to Winnipeg Manitoba. My husband had ordered his usual , and I ordered a western sandwich. The cook Cass sent out his creation! Wow it was filling and great..., I couldn't finish it all! I recommend you stop in and order a meal here!! Filling and tastes great!!! View all feedback.
What Eldred Wolf doesn't like about Nipigon Esso Restaurant:
My husband and I were very disappointed with our meals. If you are fish lovers, do not order those plates - fish was flavourless, plus the pickerel was filled with pin bones. View all feedback.
I really want people to know that this place is under new management and it’s wonderful! The new owners are a breath of fresh air. Food is delicious and homemade with generous portions and reasonable prices.
What a great place to go since the news owners took over. I love going to this place. It feels like home. The new owner are such wonderful and welcoming people. The restaurant serves both Canadian and Indian cuisine! Both are delicious(Karen makes an awesome...Gyro look for it on the dinner special, and a great clubhouse)....... .... but i can’t get enough of the delicious Indian food! Deliciously made from scratch I’ve enjoyed a most delicious shahi paneer, butter chicken, samosas, yogurt, roti, chickpea curry... and the list goes on! You will not be disappointed! Oh and chai tea yumm! Definitely glad to finally have something different other than your usual truck stop food. Just ask your waitress for the Indian menu!
We were looking for a quick meal at the end of a long driving day and wanted table service but nothing fancy. The Nipigon Esso has a couple of fast food counters on one side and a family restaurant on the other. It did not...look too busy, so there we went. What a mistake! While the food when it arrived was OK the waitress was the worst we have ever experienced. We most definitely felt like we were an inconvenience for her, along with the other customers in the restaurant as few as they were. She argued with my order until I read from the menu, then did not get the order correct. Much sighing and rolling of eyes as she flounced back to get the cutlery she had neglected to bring earlier. No coffee refills, even when asked. We were not asked if we wanted dessert, and to be honest we really just wanted out of there. It was not a pleasant or enjoyable visit. Was she being forced to work here? Why would the management retain such an employee? We watched as she was equally rude and neglectful to everyone there. We were coming to the end of a month cross Canada driving trip and had visited a lot of family restaurants along the way. Come on Nipigon Esso Restaurant you can do better! Fire this young woman and let her get on with her life somewhere else. Then train and supervise your new staff.
Waited almost an hour to get our food, which we didn’t even end up getting. Our beverages were served in paper cups which quickly became soggy. One of the orders came out early so he finished his meal before the rest of us even got...ours. No mashed potatoes so had to substitute for fries which we all ordered, only to be told that of our dishes will have gravy because there wasn’t enough. We were told this after waiting an hour for food. Only go here if you want to wait forever and be disappointed.
Went to Timmy but line up too long so went to this restaurant across the road and had a great Chicken Biryani, one serving good for two to three people and tasted delish! Given covid you order and wait outside to pick up meal, well...worth the wait.
