One of Queensland's top restaurants, it has both a wonderful river aspect and impressive quality food. A great way to start Noosa Alive's Seafood Seduction, the local cobia both artistic and wonderful quality View all feedback.
What Thibaut Ramos doesn't like about Wasabi Restaurant & Bar:
I agree with other reviewers stating their underwhelment. We've dined at 3 chef hat restaurants (though not reviewed here) and I feel Wasabi's food was bland and not worth the money, instead expensive and no 3 hats yet rated best Japanese restaurant in Australia?? Somewhat pretentious and totally not as good as I had hoped. Kiyomi at the Gold Coast casino is tonnes better. View all feedback.
Three couples on holiday in Noosa Heads. Wasabi was recommended by others so off we went. Not disappointed by any means, efficient friendly service to white linen tablecloths. The ambience was as expected at an up market restaurant.Drinks menu was extensive, although a little surprised at the price of Japanese whiskey (which we were looking forward to, but declined as could not justify the pricing) The wait staff were well versed in the menu and the complexities of the meals on offer. We were not disappointed as all meals served were delicious, and complex in design, construction and taste. All six enjoyed their meals, i especially the Tuna tartare. The Lamb was had by two of our party to exultation as was the Venison. The rice served with main i felt a bit bland. The wines we selected complemented our meal. The restaurant was as expected expensive, but we had a great time.

My Wife and I went to Wasabi with great anticipation when in Noosa on holiday last month. We chose a 3 course meal with Sake. The first 2 courses were ok but not special. the 3rd 'main' course was the big disappointment I had the lamb dish. I would be very surprised if if was 'Lamb' because it was very strong in smell and taste for true lamb. My Wife tried it and agreed and we both 'tasted' the lamb well after our meal. It was an expensive meal which is not a problem when the meal is special or at least good . This was not. We will not be going back again as we enjoyed about 10 Restaurants during our holiday and all were better than Wasabi.
Original menu. Great food. Found it to be overly pretentious though. This is not your everyday dining experience. Is worth the expense - even if it is just once.
We absolutely enjoyed our 9 course degustation plus a small dish of two oysters in delicious Japanese flavours. Fine dining restaurant, tonight we had the 9 course trust the chef little dishes. Each innovative serves were beautiful presented and tasted amazing, firstly you have to enjoy Japanese food (raw fish etc). The ambience is lovely, soft background music and overlooking the canal area. It will be more interesting having lunch there to enjoy the water views. Staff were friendly and professional. You have a choice of 7 or 9 trust the chef degustation menu or a la carte menu. Also matching wines if you wish. A large selection of beer, wine, spirits and cocktails. Worth trying if you enjoy Japanese and degustation food, sit back and relax as we were there for four hours when we finished off with coffee.
