What User doesn't like about Meraki Greek Cuisine:
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant based on the positive reviews we read on Google. Despite the good taste of the food, we were disappointed by the lack of value. The prices for the entrees ranged from $15.00 to $22.00, while the main dishes, described as 'large,' were priced at $29 or more. The menus were not user-friendly, with no pictures and every ingredient listed. The portion sizes were small and n... View all feedback.
We first noticed the restaurant in the morning and were tempted by the amazing smells that led us back for dinner. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. The wine selection offered something for every palate. And the food... We started with fresh, warm pita bread served with a light and delicate beetroot dip. The zucchini croquettes and crunchy calamari were both flavorful and delicious. The quail was perfectly cooked with beautifully balanced flavors. Overall, it was a delicious meal.
A little basic, this establishment, but go for the lamb shoulder for two, as Twofold2 recommended last month. It really is top quality and cooked to perfection. Match it with the pinot noir. You won't need a starter or dessert and you'll come away happy, as we did.
Our first visit and it won't be our last !!! We chose the 9 mezze dinner. The flavours in all of the dishes were bang on. That's Greek cooking at its best. We had some big eaters on our table but we could not finish all of the offerings. The service was great and reasonably priced. All our guests really enjoyed it.
After hunting high and low for a place to have dinner on date night, and deciding we wanted either Greek or Lebanese food, we eventually landed at Meraki at 7.30 without a booking on a Thursday night. Thankfully it wasn't fully booked and we were given a nice table for two at the window (by the door would have been better as the A/C was better at that spot - horrible at the window on a 42 degree Adelaide evening). Starting with a couple of Mythos beers, we savaged the dips and pita. The skordalia is the best i have tasted and the pita was sublime. While you pay a bit more for the pleasure, the quality is definitely there. We ordered the char-grilled octopus, the saganaki, the sausage and the vegetarian moussaka. They were all great except the veggie moussaka. It could have been that the saltiness of the sausage and saganaki and octopus overpowered the moussaka but it tasted unseasoned. a good dose of salt and pepper may have helped but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt. We washed down the meal with an Italian pinot grigio (no greek wines at this point in time). All in all, great food, good service in a convenient location.
The greeting was very friendly, Chloe was very welcoming. As first timers to this place we asked for a tip on the food. They said the shoulder lamb for two people was the best thing on the menu and they were right on the money.. They also suggested that we did not need anything else as that would be plenty of food for the two of us and once again they were right. We will find a way to return for this little gem of a restaurant.
