Atmosphere just wonderful. Service wonderful. Food great. Perfect place to go for a relaxing, stress free evening. Liu Rose has been a favorite restaurant for 2 generations of my family. My mother started visiting Liu Rose soon after it opened and always loved it. We always enjoy our meals there. Thank you Liu Rose. View all feedback.
What pchampson doesn't like about Liu Rose:
I have been here many times and have only had slight problems not worth a mention. Tonight was the worst experience I have had here. Two bones in the Duck entree and one in the Fried Rice. Back this up with a glass of wine tipped over my wife and what a night. Mentioned all issues with the waiter who claimed he would speak to the manger and compensate the bill. Well that didn’t happen until I questioned the bill. Poo... View all feedback.
Stepping into Liu Rose feels like stepping into a scene from a James Bond movie – specifically The Man With the Golden Gun (1974), which was filmed at The Sea Palace, a floating restaurant in Hong Kong's Aberdeen Harbour built in 1958. Despite the modern exterior mural, the restaurant's darkened glass facade doesn't give away the opulent interior. The well-stocked bar, with its faded red leather seating, is surrounded by a stunning ceiling dating back to 1971. Hexagonal ceiling features hold elegant chandeliers that illuminate the jade green ceiling details. As you pass through circular red and gold door arches from the bar to the dining area, the late afternoon light adds a sparkling touch to the gold walls. A fish tank serves as a room divider, adding to the unique atmosphere.
It was a Saturday night and we had initially made a reservation at another restaurant (Cedrus in Ryde) to celebrate my spouse's business being nominated for an award. However, we had a negative experience there and decided to leave. Surprisingly, when we called Liu Rose, they had availability for us. The restaurant was bustling when we arrived, but we were seated promptly at a nice table. The staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly, with one in particular being very cheerful and engaging with us and other guests. The food was exceptional, as always. We enjoyed the marinated calamari, beef with honey and pepper, and mixed vegetables with nuts. Everything was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, it was a fantastic evening out. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. The only thing that I would fault is that the serving sizes were a little small. If it hadn't been for that I would give them 5 stars.
Haha, this place. From the outside its dark, like noone every goes there.<br/ <br/ Well, do try it. Their shantong chicken is really amazing. Their sizzling plates and bomba alaska are great if with friends. I personally love eating here when i feel like fancy food court chinese. Very westernised chinese and so is the clientele but the decor is outstanding you feel like you stepped back in time.<br/ <br/ Its got a goos realestate size but severely underutilized. The waiters are very good though. And very process orientated. <br/ <br/ I love the vibe. Its very eccentric. The other thing is, the fried ice cream with cheap chocolate syrup is so nostalgia.<br/ <br/
Can't fault this place at all the staff are great and very friendly.<br/ <br/ Tried the spring roll and dim.sum as starters lovely flavours and the spring rolls weren't greasy as happens in some cases. Main course of duck and flaming pork ribs. Superb dishes tasty full of flavour.<br/ <br/ One of the best Chinese restaurants I've dined in and very well.priced.
