The Portly Chef - North Vancouver

I love really good food! Was going to leave it at that, but will mention our server was also excellent. Wonderful experience! But honestly, the chef isn't as portly as expected. Lol!

I came in from Fraser Valley, well worth the trip.Superb Ciccino stew,excellent service,nice atmosphere.This is fine dining,shall return:-)

One of our standards on the north shore. Food is always good (consistent) and well priced. Good wine list as well.

My Wife and I took close friends for brunch and felt quite embarrassed afterwards to think that we had suggested we go there based on its reviews. The service was terrible and all in perfect view of the owners Wife who spent the entire time offering two wealthy clients her wine suggestions. We should probably have left when the coffee finally arrived with the cream that was sour. Next we waited forever to get new coffee and then again to order. After all of this we got a second waitress that made the 1st one almost look good. She never did bring the drinks we ordered and between the two of them they finally dragged the food over. We thought it couldn't get any worst until we asked for salt, pepper and hot sauce. It would probably have been better to ask for the lease agreement on the building, it eventually arrived when our food was almost done. The food was expensive but ok, rather take your business elsewhere where the owners offer all their customers the same satisfaction, not just the ones that look like they going to spend more. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't complain but I really didn't want to create a scene in front of our guests.

We went to this small restaurant but the food and service was very luxury and good. Very clean and simple place with very delicious food.
