I visited Cafe Rouge with my daughter and two grandchildren before heading to the pantomime. We were pleased with the variety of food options available and appreciated the healthy choices on the children's menu. What OpenTable Diner dislikes about Cafe Rouge Norwich Chapelfield:
Starters took ages. We ended up late for the theatre even though we had allowed 1 3/4 hours for our meal. My friends bread starter didn't even have any dipping oil and her salad was awful, just a load of lettuce with a sprinkle of lentils. It was cozy and had a friendly staff with a great atmosphere and wine selection.
My experience of Cafe Rouge was definitely a contrast to minted247's.
We went early Sunday evening with our children so it was still quiet with not many tables occupied.
We had a wonderful evening and enjoyed delicious food.
I had trouble with the OpenTable app, as my reservation did not go through when I arrived at the restaurant. Thankfully, I had my email confirmation and the staff kindly found a table for us. However, the food was mediocre and the presentation was lacking. While the staff were pleasant, the quality of the food and presentation were disappointing.
