I recently enjoyed a delicious cappuccino at this restaurant. The latte art and smooth textured milk foam were excellent. My only suggestion would be for them to extend their closing hours on Sundays by one hour. I look forward to returning to sample their brunch menu and updating my review. View all feedback.
What Annunziata Pagano doesn't like about Kerr Street Cafe:
The cafe was busy and the atmosphere was great.” We had to wait for our table and that was good. After we sat, things went on the hill. Our waitress wasn't friendly. The coffee was very pretty, but...cold. “I had a salad, which was good, My friends breakfast was cold and the eggs were boiled over, they specifically asked to be soft Our waitress never came back to see if we needed something else and she quite ignored... Delicious vegan options, including desserts. everything a bit different and imaginative. beautiful atmosphere and a great service.
Not many gluten free options, but have felt very safe eating here multiple times. I’ve always gotten the Huevos Rancheros. Servers and kitchen staff have a solid understanding of celiac disease and cross contamination.
The first time I stumbled upon this place I was expecting it to be like a typical cafe and was not expecting table service. Although it was bright and open, it didn't feel like it was a very relaxing spot to hang out solo as it had more of a seated restaurant vibe. The coffee and food were excellent but the prices were consistent with that of a mid-range restaurant rather than a cafe and I was surprised to find the french toast was $15. While it was delicious, that's really overpriced for a vegetarian French toast dish. The second time I went with my partner, we were squished in between two other couples at a long communal table as this was the only space left. We were very close to the front door which was covered with a curtain but the cold winter breeze came right through every time someone opened the door. The staff seemed disgruntled when we asked to move to another table when one came available. The other side of the cafe/restaurant is much nicer to sit and enjoy brunch (and no freezing cold drafts!), and while we did enjoy our food, the service continued to disappoint. The service was slow and our server was not friendly but rather acted like we were an inconvenience and rarely came over to our table. There was no quality check on our meals and she completely forgot to bring the coffee my partner ordered. She didn't come back to the table until we were done eating and it was time to clear our plates so we didn't mention it. I was surprised to find the coffee that never came on our bill! What was even more surprising was that the server acted shocked that the coffee (that we ordered from her and she apparently rang in) never arrived at our table. She took the coffee off the bill but for the price you pay to eat there, the experience was lacking in customer service and overall was a disappointment. The food is tasty but for those prices with that service - not worth it.
My wife and I enjoy Kerr Street Cafe for breakfast and lunch and we just went there for dinner. They are now open We'd - Sat for dinner. They have a great choice of entrees, a delightful ambience, and attentive servers. This is a great place - get there soon while they aren't jammed in the evening.
I was really happy with my experience at Kerr Street Cafe. It's beautifully designed inside, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. It was hard to choose a dish, because the entire menu looked wonderful. There are some really great vegan options, I ended up ordering the Spring Salad which sounds like a basic salad, but is so much more. The cauliflower steak and sauce were phenomenal. I can't wait to return!
