we've been here for 30 years. we never had a bad experience! the food and service are (if not) the best ocean city has to offer. make sure to get a table with a view of the sunset and then a walk after dinner on the pier for some fantastic views. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Fager's Island:
Very cool place. It's not an island but it's a restaurant, bar, club and store on a little barge over a bridge in a great spot on the bay just over the 90 bridge. Similar to Seacrets. Good drinks, 10 bucks each! Not bad. Food is good. At night, it's probably cool but nice spot during the day in the sun and on the water. View all feedback.
Not a good culinary experience in any case. the only reason why I would give this place even 2 stars for our “fine dining room” experience is because our server michele was wonderful and the desserts were very good. we arrived early and had checked early, and they had said it would have been a few minutes, 20 minutes later our reservation time came and then no text after we had waited for an extended 15 minutes after our scheduled reservation time. after going and mentioning they had not given us a reason why, then we sat up on the balcony from which we were receptive until we had waited 20 minutes. we then had to get up to tell the hostess that we were not even greeted or even given by a hostessin/hotsin water/bread. the host/hostess gave no reason why others say: "oh their server may not have seen them" when we returned outside our seats, our server michele came by and she was very apologetic and had let us know that nobody made them aware that we were even there. for a fine dining room with higher trips the customer service was extremely lacking and eating was bland, meals were also small, especially in comparison to how large the desserts were. I think, above all, I am very disappointed and annoyed that no one (manager/head boss/hossins) has come to apologize or try to correct their mistakes by perhaps desserting or compposing our drinks. we will definitely not be back or recommend this facility. very excited for our night from fine eating on holiday that this was our experience. we understand that the world is short-occupied, but it lacked communication and accountability for such a high-priced/valued facility. this could have been easily avoided or at least put on.

Stopped here for dinner on a weekday night. I have been here a few times for the night life, but for the dining I was a first timer on this trip. We were sat upstairs in the indoor part overlooking the bay. We came around 7:30 and were sat immediately. I ordered a crown Manhattan which was as close to a crown Manhattan as I am to an NFL HOF QB. Yikes. It was brutally bad. So I figured this was going to be a tough go. However, things turned around quickly receiving my cream of crab soup which was perfectly seasoned and came with crab on top. Perfect execution. We also split the fried mozzarella which was a little on the pedestrian side but again well seasoned and tasty. And also splitting a Caesar salad which I think the whole table got a piece of. Really good. For my meal I went with the steak and cake with a small slice of bread under the steak so the drippings didn't mingle and sog the crab cake. The entree came with vegetables and a baked potato. The potato was on the small side but the crab cake was perfect and the steak cooked properly medium. Then the music started. I nearly looked out back to see if there was a sword fight taking place because some John Philip Sousa was blaring. I'm into it. Apparently every night they play music that the last note hits when the sun totally sets behind the horizon. Really cool. The whole table got desserts and passed them around my main was the NY cheesecake with strawberry shmear, but also tried the Oreo cheesecake, the creme brûlée, the dreamsicle cheesecake all were very good. Probably a close second in terms of favorite/best meals during my stay on the island. Very good. Will be back!
Fine dining area w/ the most beautiful sunset views. Love their wine selection and warm rolls and a table outside overlooking the bay. Their fresh fish selection is always good and the service, as well. Save room for cheesecake, it's delicious. Reservations for fine dining are recommended.
Ended up coming here two nights in a row because it was so good! Fine dining night and then regular restaurant. Both were delicious! And even though it was super busy with 4th of July and weekend crowd, the service was awesome!Amazing spot for sunset over the bay as extra bonus.
