While some patrons enjoyed the gluten-free options and attentive service, others were disappointed by overpriced meals, poor service, and average food quality. The ambiance, especially the outdoor patio seating, received praise, but inconsistencies in food temperature and cleanliness were noted. Despite a celebratory atmosphere for special occasions, such as birthdays or honeymoons, the high prices left some diners feeling disappointed. However, the dedicated staff, including General Manager Steve Lamb, received accolades for their exceptional service during challenging times.
This restaurant is a great place to have dinner. We visited with a group of five and enjoyed cocktails and a bottle of Plumpjack Chardonnay, which we all really enjoyed. The warm bread and butter with volcanic salt was delicious. The menu changes regularly depending on the fresh ingredients available. Everyone in our group loved their meals. My halibut was cooked perfectly, and my husband was thrilled when the chef prepared a special vegan dinner for him, which he loved so much he almost licked the plate clean. We also tried two desserts, even though we were full, and they were amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant, but make sure to make a reservation in advance.
Best restaurant in SV, Tahoe City or Truckee for many years. The patio is fantastic during the summer.

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. It was a significant decline from past visits to Plumpjack. Our Rose wine was warm after 30 minutes and the quality of the food went downhill from there. The upscale menu was no longer available and the meals were bland and poorly prepared. I am saddened to have to share this negative review.
