Kafe Blitz - Oslo

Blitz is unique, not only in oslo, but I'm pretty sure in the world. If they expect a professional or high-class experience there, they will be disappointed, but if they read something about flash they won't. blitz is a non-profit café of volunteers and puncts with unmatched crooks, tee for 5kr, great firma, graffiti everywhere and the ability to smoke in the interior. eating is simple and inexpensive with at least one vegan option. if you think you're turning your nose on like this, it's not for you. punk lefties will love it.

Hubby and I went here, after the other happy Cow recommendations; Maybe we just went to a bad day, but there was no hot court it was created, but we were too early it was 14:00. So we both had an salate. Yeah, it was cheap, but so inspiring. yellow rocket leaves, simply boiled pasta, dried kidney beans, no dressing or offer of them. if they like smoke, black walls and skulls, dirty cutlery and jars and eat in a room that feels like they penetrate something ilzit, then they will be in order. as a life veggie, in my 50s, I was not comfortable and would not recommend. there are more suitable places to eat for a vegetarian in oslo. I'm sorry, blitz, but you disappointed me.

I came once during my last trip to oslo and had a delicious meal of an open sandwich with hummus, mushrooms and cashew nuts. it was only nkr 10 for a disc and it was so good! definitiw the cheapest place to eat good vegan food in the city. it is based in a squat and community center, which seems to have strong links to anarchism and antifascist activeism. Unfortunately I missed the dinner this day just because I had to be somewhere else, but if I come back to oslo in the future, I will make a beeline for eating here!

Now, if you want to bang a few cool notches, visit this little enclave. my companion and I went with and he heard my excited words about this caffe. like-minded political and open-minded people who want to talk about the world. we meet a few young ones at the entrance that were good enough, but seemed to be proud that we would pass them into the inner kingdom. once inside and a walk over the stairs and into the escaping all. and I mean, everyone stopped looking at us. and not in an inviting way....and since I did not wear my clown costume on this day. I didn't know what to do. I really wanted to eat there. the piepen had a total club members only setting..and yet I was starved and totally down to join the crowd. then I knew how it was to be clint eastwood in a western. to go to a new salon. filz super unwilling. I felt more welcome at the most dull dive expeditions with strangers. sad for me. I really wanted to try!

Any vegetarian/vegan coming to Oslo should check out Blitz. This place has been around since 1982, and serves the cheapest vegan and vegetarian food in all of Oslo. Lots of punks/alternative people go here to hang out or practice with their bands. Blitz offers open faced sandwiches with a huge variety of toppings (omelette, fried tofu on hummus, potato burger, sautéed mushroom with cashews, different cheeses baguettes with tofu or cheese with hummus and greens and so on, and a new main dish every day. The main dish isn't always vegan, and not always spectacular, but always delicious, and it only costs 40 kroner (5 euros)! Everything's made by volunteers, and the selection will vary according to who's working that day. Try the waffles, they're world famous (in Oslo).
