Heart & Crown - Ottawa

The food at this restaurant is typical of a pub and was prepared well and tasted decent. However, I was disappointed with the small portion sizes in relation to the price we paid. Additionally, we had some issues with the service, such as not receiving our appetizers until after we had finished our main course.

Our large group visited this restaurant on Saturday night. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was lively. However, it seemed like the servers were a bit forgetful as they kept missing our orders and drinks, prompting us to call them over multiple times. Despite this, we still enjoyed our meal.

I would like to give a 3.5 star rating, but that's not an option. I visited the Heart and Crown for dinner and ordered the vegetarian burger with a side of seafood chowder. The chowder was fantastic: thick and full of flavor with tender pieces of fish, scallops, and shrimp. It was very filling as well. I couldn't finish my vegetarian burger, perhaps because of the hearty chowder. The burger, topped with a slice of dill pickle, was tasty and sweet. The sautéed mushrooms and onions that came with it were delicious, but I wish there were more of them. Instead, there were large amounts of strong goat cheese and aioli that overwhelmed the other flavors. I didn't notice any arugula, which was supposed to be in the dish. After dinner, my group moved to the bar, where I had the cider on tap. It was a bit too sweet for my liking, but still enjoyable. The waitstaff were excellent, handling our rowdy group with grace and efficiency, and quickly providing anything we needed.

I came here for nachos and drink, and that’s what I got, everything was delicious and the waiters were really gentle. the pub inside is hugeee I loved it

We had waffles, standard breakfast and fruits salad. Amazingly delicious waffles, topping was cinnamon ricotta with lots of fruit, exceeded our expectations. Standard breakfast was good portions and salad dressing was also delicious.
