Hog's Back Restaurant - Ottawa

You may dismiss this restaurant based on its looks but don't! The pizza is so, so good. Three of us had the pizza and all ate too much because it was just that good ????

Good food but certainly not classy. The owners are real nice which helps overcome the poor location (small strip plaza).

Very friendly and polite! Will occasionally offer free drinks while waiting!The donairs were rather disapointing though.. not enough sauce, too much lettuce, not enough meat, ended up tasting very dry. Had pickles on them, which is not nessessarily bad, but new to me on donairs. They do have the sweet garlic donair sauce! Just wish I had asked for extra sauce on it.My freinds ordered pizza, they said this is the best pizza place in the area!

We didn't see this restaurant for a few mths after my dtr moved to Ottawa and now it is a fave spot for lunch or dinner. It's not fancy. But the meals are cooked fresh and are very tasty. The spaghetti was loaded with mozzarella cheese and the portion was huge. The gyros was delicious although I'd rather the wrap not be toasted--I prefer it just heated. Perhaps I'll mention this next time. I'm sure they would accommodate. The owners/servers are lovely people and eager to please. The meals are affordable.

Family run restaurant. Always so kind, polite & generous. Amazing with our children. Food is delicious! Great portions, fair prices. A family favourite.
