Steak and fries is very typical to France. Since Montreal is quite French, this is a safe place to have that French taste. Nothing out of this world but good food, inexpensive, good service, great for lunch! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Steak Frites St-Paul:
The meat is very mediocre, the few green beans almost raw and the fries poorly cooked and soft. prices are totally disproportionate. We had already come twice with our children in 2013 and 2014. It's definitely our last attempt. View all feedback.

We went to the fried steak on Monday evening, April 6. At 6:00, we were the only ones in the restaurant. It took 30 minutes to get in. Later, the restaurant filled up, and it took a lot of time for the main dishes to be served, but the waiter seemed to be alone on the floor so it was understandable. the manager (?) came to help him serve fries. When we asked him for the desserts, he told us that we had to ask the server because it was not his responsibility. Funny answer. Anyway, it took three hours for a dinner of eight people on Monday night, which is not normal. however, food is really excellent! chorizo pogos are a nice surprise, and duck thighs are delicious!
The best things about this place is that you can have your own wine with you...the Steak is not more than OK..the salmon bufffff. and it is no noise in there and what about the service....it s a great depannage restaurant.
There was nothing in the seat! on a group of 20 people everyone was out! There were 7 beans ds the ass and a steak the size of a credit card for a big $27 without taxes! Avoid going! I'll never go back there!
I went on several occasions to the fries steak in St-Bruno = a very ordinary service, a large amount of fries and no atmosphere but, a great advantage: it's fast and close to home.... Except that the last time we went, a month ago, we had a visit of california. We didn't love them. The tuna was hard and much too cooked. Without wanting to be difficult, my guest asked to change his plate and that, with great delicacy, but the chef has made the answer that it is the way the tuna must be cooked....OUTCH! bad idea! I think he should visit the ``Cote-à-Cote` to a beautiful eye where the tuna is a pure delight!
