7 people (not easy to fit in but there was no problem). Great and friendly welcome. Delightful waitress who explained everything to us. Good Sicilian wine, delicious antipasti and superb pasta dishes. We all had a great evening. View all feedback.
What nouglytourist doesn't like about La Trottinette:
Small restaurant located about 10 minutes from Place de la République in a residential area. The pasta tasting menu for two was €52, which is a bit pricy considering they don't serve any meat with the menu and it is mostly pasta. Granted the pasta is made fresh on the premises in an open kitchen. Cannot remember what we had for dessert. Overall, the food was not at all memorable. The servers took the time to explain... We were looking for a place to have dinner after a working event in Paris. The menu on the front was good enough for one of my colleagues to chose this very small place. And we got one of the best dinners I have had for a very long time. The service was fast and efficient. While the place is really small and it is a bit difficult to find space for everything and everyone, then you forget about this when you receive the food. The menu choices are limited but all of them were extraordinary. Italian (Sicilian) home-made food, with incredible sauces and tastes. We enjoy every bite of it. We shared some appetizers for starters and then each of us choose the pasta. Desserts were incredible!!! I am still dreaming about the tiramisu!

Happened upon La Trottinette after doing an online search for a pasta restaurant near to where we were staying. Didn 't know beforehand about the fixed dining times or the set menu and arrived just after 8pm. We still received a fairly warm welcome and were provided with the 'Bible des Vins ' which was admittedly fairly baffling as my knowledge of Sicilian wines is a little limited. After a couple of false starts, we managed to order a couple of glasses of perfectly acceptable white wine. Shortly afterwards, our 'host ' explained the restaurant 's concept in great detail and the main course options. It wasn 't easy to understand or remember all the explanations but we went with the flow. As other reviewers have mentioned, you receive a plate of anti pasti per table to share and then there was tagliatelle with a choice of 5 sauces and a choice of 3 desserts. This is certainly somewhere you 'll either love or hate. We liked sense that we were all friends together eating at another friend 's house and it was interesting to see the work going on in the kitchen behind, particularly the rolling of the pasta. Everything seemed very fresh but the pasta could certainly have been thinner and the sauces were not so so much better than I can make myself. And all this 'fun ' didn 't come particularly cheap over 70 Euros for 2 with just 2 glasses of wine and a bottle of mineral water.
We had a good time, the meal was delicious, excellent advice on the choice of wine in accompaniment, the service was quick with the smile, bravo! We'll be back with pleasure!
Nice discovery! The welcome is pleasant and familiar, the service is pretty fast, the dishes are delicious, and a great menu on the map for which I will return
