While prices may be a bit high and service can be slow at times, the beer selection is worth a visit and the homemade desserts are outstanding. Their daily specials and attentive staff make it a perfect spot for a special occasion or casual dining. Customers rave about the prime rib, omelettes, pork tenderloin, and more. With a friendly and accommodating staff, The Log Cabin provides a lovely dining experience for all occasions.
We did not stay at the Log Cabin Inn, but we did go there for dinner. It was excellent from the gravlax roulade appetizer to the maple bourbon creme brûlée. The mustard sauce served with the roulade was truly delicious! My husband also enjoyed the watermelon feta salad--a great combination--and very nice with his two generously-poured Scotches. We both enjoyed the whitefish, and the rice and grain and vegetables accompanying it were creatively constructed and just delicious. The nice feature of the "wine by the glass" part of the menu was that you could order different sizes of the glass or a bottle--something for everyone! Our service was superb, and waitress Natalie worked very hard to serve us well! What a great find!
While staying at the Log Cabin Inn, we went for dinner at their restaurant. It was a very cozy room with family-friendly fine dining. The green and natural view from our window seat was gorgeous and restful.I started with the Oxtail Soup, which looked small, though sweetly served in a floral teacup. The soup was savoury, meaty and delicious so a teacup's worth was just fine.Next was pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto. That was perfectly cooked, moist inside, crispy prosciutto outside. It was served with some lovely steamed veg and a tasty but overly herbal risotto. My partner had the steak and lobster and was reasonably happy with it though found the steak needed some seasoning. They accommodated instantly with an offer of jus or peppercorn sauce. That did the trick.Too full for dessert, though they did look lovely walking by. I appreciated the breakfast bucket they gave to Inn residents with danish, juice and fruit for the morning. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. I would be happy to go back again.
We had dinner for the umpteenth time a few weeks ago and as usual it was delicious. The service is always friendly and they always have time for your questions. we actually went again and had previously booked for last Saturday evening however when we arrived at 7.30pm there was a note on the door apologizing to patrons as they had to close due to a possible tornado going through the Parry Sound area leaving 35,000 people without power. We were really disappointed as we had friends up with us at our boat for the weekend and we were all looking forward to a great meal. Those are the breaks and I am sure they will reopen if not already but very soon. By the way there were trees and power lines down everywhere including in front of the Log Cabin driveway. We will book again so looking forward to next Saturday night we hope! Good luck Log Cabin!
I've lived in Parry Sound for 2 years, but had never been to The Log Cabin. I was looking for a nice spot to have lunch with my family, and certainly found it. The food was delicious, the surroundings were peaceful and calm, and the service was perfect. We all ordered different daily specials, shared tastes and agreed they were all excellent. Ditto for dessert. Portions were perfect, prices were very reasonable, and the service was great--attentive without overwhelming.
Good food, slower service due to new wait staff training. Kathy awesome as usual. group enjoyed ambiance. Enjoyed dish...fish, can not recall if salmon or pickerel but it was tasty!Creme Brule not up to par for me .one of my favorite desserts. Odd ingredient .was it cardamom and a different fruit. not that it was bad.
