Contribute FeedbackThe reviews for this restaurant paint a mixed picture. Some diners were disappointed with the quality of the food, with complaints ranging from poorly made rolls and soggy tempura to tasteless broth and flavorless skewers. Others, however, praised the wide range of food options and highlighted great dishes like the Yakitori and Lachs Benton. The karaoke also received positive feedback for providing a fun atmosphere. The service was a point of contention, with some diners praising their attentive waitress and others feeling let down by the service they received. Overall, while some diners found the experience to be a waste of money, others enjoyed the great vibes, good food, and fast service provided by this establishment.
SUPER FAST. I ordered thru Ubereats to my hotel and it arrived in 20 minutes. I ordered the alaska roll, spicy tuna the yellowtail. It’s super good and the rice has lots of flavor. I ate one of the rolls before I managed to take a picture… couldn’t resist.
The server downstairs was very kind and attentive. The sushi was okay, although not the best I’ve ever had. However, the bar upstairs was the worst karaoke experience I’ve ever had. The cover charge is 10 dollars and the drinks aren’t cheap either. We put in our song requests and our turn never came. Instead, the DJ played a bunch of songs no one asked for. When we pointed it out, he said we could pay him 20 dollars for our song request to be played. This place is a ripoff. Avoid it.
Food was not as good as I remembered when I visited in 2019. Things were also 50%-100% more expensive. The chicken skewers were acceptable but the beef and lamb were tough and unappetizing, so much so that I did not even finish them. Salmon skewers and takoyakj were ok. Would not recommend and would not return.
I went here after a big gaming tournament at Localhost with my teammates and fellow competitors and I cannot stress this enough that I had a wonderful time and made some new friends. The Yakitori was delicious and the restaurant was wonderful as well as the service. High recommendation if you're ever in Philly Chinatown.
Yakitori Boy used to be a great spot to go with friends for Karaoke and a taste of Japanese night life in Chinatown. The prices to enjoy these experiences have gotten insane. $10 cover. $5 to sing one song (considerably more to shorten the wait) and eye-watering drink prices. Also, minimums for private Karaoke rooms can easily get close to a grand. Unless you've got money to burn, I'd recommend trying to find something else to do, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night.
