What User doesn't like about Settlers Saltwater Cafe:
We were early for the PEI ferry and after a long hot day of touring the Pomquet area, we stopped for a cold beer and shared some mussels. We sat out on their screened porch overlooking a marina and the historic Hector. Beautiful breeze, lovely view--just what we were looking for. Beer was cold and mussels were good. Can't really rate anything else. It suited our purpose and we enjoyed our time there. Friendly and hel... View all feedback.
Looking forward to a lovely fish lunch on the waterfront in Pictou. Sadly not to be had.My partner ordered pan fried haddock, was told it was fresh, never frozen. I ordered battered fish &chips. Both orders of fish we think were cooked yesterday and reheated today. The restaurant had just opened for the day at 12 noon. The battered fish was very greasy and fish inside dry. Indictative of reheated fish. The pan fried was tough and tasteless, it was served with an ear of corn, that should have been juicy and fresh, sadly not, was left with just a bite out of it.Hopefully the kitchen clued in.Shame on you Settlers Salt Water Cafe, tourist season in full swing and that's the best you can do.Wait staff pleasant and attentive, not their fault. We would not return to this restaurant.Give it a wide birth if in Pictou. We are a seafaring province and should be serving excellent fish.
Went out to supper with family. The meal was dried out, was told, for 24 dollars, they could not give more than two scallops as they were too expensive. Haddock was like eating paper. Must say the dessrt was fine. Server was pleasant but not completely knowledgeable about the drink menu.
We ate there earlier this week. Our server was friendly was the best part of the meal. The food however was dried out fries, the chicken they use was i m sure processed and tough.Caesar salad was pretty much lettuce with an odd tasting sauce.Even food going to other tables didn t look impressive.13.99 for two pieces of fish and fries that would bev9.99 in other places. This is a never again situation and could never send anybody here.
