What Joe S doesn't like about Lanza's Ristorante:
I picked this place from my maps app on my iPhone, mostly because I wanted to try the calzone. Good presentation and all but just wasn't as tasty as say Gordy's in Port Angeles, and higher priced. But again the place had a nice atmosphere, and the bread and butter were very good. The chocolate orange ice cream was good also. View all feedback.
Stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and so happy we did! In Port Townsend for the night and ventured into downtown for a late dinner (8:15pm seems late for restaurants in this town) Our waitress was the nicest lady ever. Super attentive, friendly and just on top of everything I wish I had caught her name; we never had to wait for a refill and she always had a smile waiting for you. I ordered the puttanesca spaghetti and it was amazing. Sooooo good. Other entrees ordered were chicken piccata, calzones and fettuccini Alfredo which isn't even on the menu but they made it special for our youngest, picky eater. Everything was delicious from the moment they gave us warm bread rolls with butter to our dinners. Nice ambience as well, definitely go here if you're in the mood for good pasta!
First time for dinner tonight. Fantastic service, tasty food, and a surprisingly good Zin/Syrah blend. We started with the baguette and tapenade. The tapenade was pretty smooth and tasted great with the toasted baguette. For the main course, I ordered the penne bella, which was penne pasta in a garlic cream sauce with sun dried tomatoes, sausage, and prawns. This included a salad, served beforehand. The salad was pretty large for a side salad and tasted fresh, and the balsamic vinaigrette was quite good. The pasta was delicious! Throughout our dinner, our server was very attentive, and gave us great food and wine recommendations. We will be back!
In Port Townsend for a wkd getaway, looking for a nice dinner and selected Lanza's Ristorante. I am a fan of a good lasagne and very happy to see it on the menu. The pasta came with a soup or salad and our server advised their salad was a non-traditional caesar salad. As I love caesar salads, I had to try this. There was nothing caesar about this salad...nothing. Neither of us could finish the salad. The lasagne looked great but there was a layer of zucchini that was not cooked...it was as if they pre-cooked it, then to serve it, tossed on some cheese, broiled it to melt the cheese then surround it with a creamy red sauce...think they needed to pre-cook it longer. And the sauce lacked flavour. The highlight of the meal was the warm fresh rolls with the garlic butter. The service was excellent but the food was not up to par. I can not recommend Lanza's Ristorante.
A huge thank you to Lori for making my (belated) birthday celebration very memorable! We were seated at a cozy window seat away from the rest of the crowd, so it added a nice intimate, romantic atmosphere for our dinner. The service here was impeccable, the wine delicious, and the food was excellent. Loved the shrimp scampi dish that I had! And for dessert, I had a sinfully delicious tiramisu to top off the night. Can't wait to visit again!
Best Italian food ever!!! We stayed the night in Port Townsend before catching the ferry to Victoria and were fortunate enough to have dinner here. The Caesar salad was amazing and the crab cakes were gigantic. This will become a regular stop for us on our way to Victoria every time now!
