French food fantastically prepared. Try the Coq au vin and try to have a little of everything in every bite. Whoa. The surprise is the creamed root veg at the bottom. The service is also amazing nicely paced, new silverware with each new course. Oh get the plate o' bread with their house made butter. To die for. Seriously. Bury me in a vat of that butter with a loaf of crusty bread encrusted with sea salt in both hands.

If you're in PDX or are traveling through, do your mouth a favor and treat it to tasty morsels and cocktails from my fave spot in Portland. Great food, service and atmosphere your mouth will thank you.

The presentation and quality of food was fantastic. The kitchen was extremely accommodating. I ordered a side of polenta (not on the menu as a side) and they fulfilled my request. Our waiter was very attentive. I look forward to returning and will recommend Bar Avignon to family and friends.

The food is simply as close to flawless as I have experienced. I've been often, but last night we had soup based on grilled seared eggplant, free range chicken served with a savory creme , pate, and ribs that melted in its herb sauce. Top notch service, good wine choices, perfect martini, and killer chocolate lava cake with fresh French press. We travel 60 miles just to eat here.

Great atmosphere, professional staff, excellent food, open kitchen, reasonable prices, great wine and cocktail list. What's not to like?
