Some enjoy the wide variety of vegan and gluten-free options, as well as the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, while others mention issues with burnt coffee and unfriendly staff. Despite mixed reviews, the shop is known for its cozy decor, vegan food options, and inclusive environment, making it a popular choice for many coffee lovers in the area.
My favorite coffee shop has been coming here for years and I love the domestic feeling. 0% pretentious and 100% welcoming, with comfortable seating, cozy laborious decor and the sweetest owner! have any type of milk alternative from which they could dream, and many vegan food options also. my favorite is the vegan coconut lemon zest. they are dog friendly, so it is fun to see all the pups that come. highly recommended if they have a cozy coffee experience with a book, dog watch, and feel like home!
The apple muffin was truly awful but the coffee and atmosphere made up for it. I will try another food item next time
My one regret is that I only discovered this place 3 weeks into my 5 weeks stay in Portland which was a short 5 minute walk from where I lived. Marty the owner rescued me by fixing my hiking pole used as a walking aid post knee surgery during the historic snow back in late February while he was out shoveling snow. Ended up bringing my work to get done there at least 3-4 times weekly for the remaining time in Portland and Marty his baristas were all fabulous. The atmosphere was conducive for working and there are a couple of cafe regulars- David, Jaime and another professor who would be at their same spots on the long table working. Positive vibes all around and connections made too. Could not recommend this place even more to anyone looking for a regular spot to remote work and the staff are always chirpy. Marty if you're seeing this, love from 12,000 miles away in Singapore!
Great atmosphere, fairly old building, probably dates to 1920's, or so. Wonderful staff, very popular place to come to. Lots of artwork inside, with some unusual pieces. Found out, it was built in 1910!
I had a honey lavender latte!! It was v good : . Busy on a rainy day, but the vibes were still great. Close to Wallace Park too, so that is fun.
