São Nicolau - Porto

Best food experience in Porto. Had to wait a bit but it was worth. The food is very traditional Portuguese and the portion is great (they say it’s for 2 ppl but it can feed 3-4 people). Also a good location to watch people while you are eating

Came across this restaurant via a local reviewer. We were lucky to get a table just before the lunch rush. Tasty dishes, but slightly salty and oily for my tastes. We had the octopus salads and the cod with potatoes.

Fantastic all around! Family had our first night dinner here and it was outstanding. Bar is set high… We had no reservations and had to wait about an hour but they accommodated the five of us nonetheless. And it was well worth the wait. Cod fritters were fried nicely and slightly chewy. Sardines were outstanding. So flavorful. My wife and young kids loved them. Our entrees were really well done. Wife had prawns in garlic sauce. Flavored well and just a touch of spice. Kids all had octopus two had grilled and the other fried and both dishes were excellent. The grilled was superb melt in your mouth tender. I had grilled cod and it too was excellent. The views of the river are the really wonderful. And the service was friendly and helpful. Complimentary port with dessert was a nice touch. A wonderful place worthy of all the accolades. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful little restaurant that was recommended to us. Great location to watch the world go by and eat amazing food. So glad we waited for a table to become available, well worth the wait! Despite being very busy the staff manage the guests with care and attention and humour! Thank you!
