Cargo Kitchen and Bar - Prince Rupert

Sat on the patio and enjoyed a couple of pints of beer from the local wheelhouse brewery. Didn't eat but the food looked pretty good . Good views too.

Well, I did say I'd be back -- and that finally happened the other week. The difference between my first visit and my most recent one, though, is I was flying solo this time around and actually had a full meal as opposed to a couple of appetizers. As such, I feel I'm in a better position to give more detailed thoughts on this establishment.First, I arrived shortly after Cargo Kitchen opened for dinner, so it was much quieter than my first visit and this is something I appreciated. The atmosphere is just as I remember it: casual, upbeat and fun. Great place to kick back, relax, enjoy the view and/or have a conversation with friends.In terms of food, I ordered the karate fried chicken; cod and chips; and chocolate zucchini cake for dessert. The karate fried chicken was fun, relatively light and juicy. The soy and saki marinade give the tenders a fabulous flavour I've not had elsewhere. The fish and chips -- panko crusted cod -- was easily the star for me. Cod was cooked perfectly; the dish wasn't the slightest bit greasy; and it was filling, but not to the point where you find yourself struggling to breathe! Finally, the chocolate zucchini cake was good -- very moist and chocolatey! It's not hard to see why this restaurant consistently makes Prince Rupert's top 5 on many lists. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming; the staff are excellent; and, the food is unique yet extremely well done. Bravo!FOOD: 4.5/5SERVICE: 4/5VALUE: 4/5RECOMMENDATION: An easy thumbs up from me!

Though we got there nearly at closing time, we could have a relaxing dinner and ask for an extra seafood linguine, which we found delicious ! Great pasta so far from Italy where we are from ! Very nice waterfront location, friendly staff and very good beer.

This restaurant has really good views over the water and also has a small deck too. Service was very good, food was good.

Went and had a solo lunch at Cargo the other day. What a great experience! Dan and his staff are always pleasant and very attentive. Food was amazing and my coffee was nice and strong.
