This restaurant located at the Sydney Fish Market is such a great option. Lunchtime, as noted here by others, is frantic but SO worth it! The variety and various preparations of fresh fish is tremendous--so much so we returned the following day for other options at this must-go storefront. The scallops with rice and garlic cheese is to die for! Most items are displayed cafeteria style so one can see what is available... View all feedback.

We went today to see what the good reviews were about. Nothing substantiated in claims. We ordered the grilled seafood platter for 2. There was barely enough seafood for one person and a pile of chips - one small piece of fish, 4 small prawns, 2 scallops, some rubbery tiny octopus and a few thin pieces of calamari. Surely this was a joke and only meant for one person? Total rip off for$45.50!!! How do they get away w... View all feedback.
Everything was nice and clean, staff very pleasant and helpful. Very pleasant visit, and very interesting.
What a rip off. The precooked food on display should have a price with description so you know what your up for. What was described as lobster tail looked like a small butterfly prawn. The tray of so called lobster tail were all under centimetres or inches. Which cost each and was dry. I also had Aburi Scallop which ended up being no scallop. All I got on a scallop shell was rice covered by grill cheese. Tourists and visits watch out for this particular retail outlet. The place next door to Fish Market Cafe was nice and the description and price on each displayed precooked item was displayed. Fish Market Cafe why do you not have the price displayed on your food in the showcase. Is it legal to sell a so called lobster tail that small?
We were staying nearby at Sebel Darling Harbour so called in for lunch. This place is located just to the left as you enter the fish markets. They had a good selection of seafood meals available. Probably the best selection in the market. I had...the grilled barramundi with chips. Meal was very good and the chips were nice and crunchy. We usually drop into this seafood market when in the Darling Harbour area.
Sunday lunch at Sydney fish market he had a great time, ordered fresh seafood from the fish market cafe and it was all fresh and delicious. A huge range to choose from from grilled to fried and raw sushimi. We ordered the seafood basket for...two which was more than enough and we had plenary of left overs which the seagulls run from all over for. Great place to eat as you can choose to eat in or eat outdoors near the water. Just watch out for the seagulls they attack! All in all a great place to come for fresh seafood and a day out with family or friends. Plenty of parking.
The is the most vibrant fish market we have ever been to. A huge variety of fish with lots of little restaurants. It is all very well done and clean.
