Matto - Québec

Dropped in on a business trip after seeing the good reviews on TripAdvisor. Atmosphere is beautiful with the restaurant surrounded in Christmas trees with white lights. Staff was professional and very friendly. I ordered the Agnelotti which was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place!

An animated neighborhood restaurant with a lovely patio, Matto Sainte-Foy is located on avenue Myrand, next to Laval University. It is just as goods as, but not to be mixed-up with Matto 71 in Old Quebec City. Besides, why drive downtown when you have such a great Italian restaurant so close to the hotel. And indeed, there seemed to be a misunderstanding with our reservations. But to their great credit, it took them only a few minutes to arrange for a table although the place was fully booked like all restaurants on this long weekend. Thank you! Just browsing the extensive and inviting menu was a pleasure in itself. Flavorful and fresh, both Spaghetti alla Carbonara and Spaghetti «meat balls» were quite unique. Delicious. A business/pleasure lunch on Friday at il Matto (Ste-Foy). Pleasant venue, beautiful day, sat on the patio. Service is always very good and the food was excellent. Highly recommended.

We were taken to Matto Sainte-Foy as a group for dinner. The atmosphere was really nice. It was kind of quiet as we were in the middle of a good snow storm. I as well as two of my coworkers had the Lasagna, one colleague a pizza and some other items. We shared a bruschetta appetizer. All of this with 2 bottles of wine made for a real nice evening. The food was tasty the atmosphere delightful and a good time was had by all. I would go back!

No doubt about it the pasta is fantastic! Unfortunately, it arrived after a dirty martini that tasted watered down, tasteless olive oil served with bread and an appetizer of roasted octopus salad ruined by too much vinaigrette. I am a real foodie and after hearing all the hype about this place was a little disappointed. However, the quality of service was one of the best I have experienced. Little details are what make a dining experience great and some have been neglected at Matto with a little effort, this place could live up to its reputation.
