Contribute FeedbackThe Standard Tandoori restaurant in Reading offers an authentic Nepalese menu with excellent food and service. However, some diners have found the decor to be outdated and the ambience lacking. While some have enjoyed the food and friendly staff, others have experienced slow service and disappointing dishes. Overall, it seems that the restaurant has mixed reviews, with some praising it for its tasty meals and welcoming service, while others feel that there is room for improvement.
No mango taste in the mango lassi. The buffet tasted as though it had been sitting for hours.
Service was very polite but so over attentive as to be intrusive. As my friend and I had gone deliberately to talk through something, it was very difficult while being interrupted every couple of minutes. Food was pleasant and venue clean, but overall fairly ordinary
Great little tandoori house. The food was good quality and plentiful (and good value) and the staff were friendly but not 'in-your-face '. I 'd definitely return again should the opportunity arise.
This was my first visit to the Standard. The decor could use some remedial attention and the ambience would improve. The food was OK nothing special and in some cases surprisingly hot. The portions are huge however If anything, the starters too big leaving not enough room for the main course. I don't have anything else to compare it with in the area but I would rate it as average overall. Worth a visit for some of the more unusual dishes on the menu.
My two companions and I dined at Standard Tandoori in Reading and we all had a great meal. The service was friendly and attentive, although it did take some time for our food to be served. The dishes were cooked and presented beautifully. I prefer my food to be hot and I was pleased with the level of spiciness. My wife, on the other hand, enjoys her food to be lightly spiced and there were plenty of options for her on the menu. Overall, it was a good dining experience.
