The food at this restaurant was amazing and incredibly fresh. Although the location is small, the welcoming decor makes up for it. It is recommended to make reservations in advance, as regulars tend to have assigned tables. Despite not being greeted upon entering, the service was exceptional. The dishes were delicious and took around 20 minutes to prepare. The cal salad with raisins and roasted pine nuts was a perfect appetizer. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fresh, homemade pastas.
First of all, our server Chloe was excellent. We enjoyed a wonderful Sangiovese wine that was the best we've ever had at a reasonable price. The pork dish was perfectly cooked, and the broccoli rabe was delicious.
Fine food best. Such a great menu and a talented cook. Food is different from any other restaurant I was in. This is the next level of food here.
In the evening we both visited vegetarian, so we had a limited experience. We had a few glasses of wine each, which was great, but a little vaccinated. The waitress ran out when I filled my second glass and no other bottle opened. It was shameful! I should have complained, but I hate complaining in a restaurant. We had a Kale salad that was fresh, but far from the best I had, and a Entre share of three vegetables. They were very good, but not very special. As a bread lover, I did not like that they served their bread, very good garlic bread, just a tiny sliver at a time. But we had a lot to eat. I noticed the portion size of other diners eating meat, they were typical of high-end restaurants. Given the above, and the simple rustic decor, I think the owners reach a tad with their prices. Because of the limited selection of restaurants up here, and what we ordered, I would give them a second attempt.
Incredible! We visited this restaurant and had an incredible meal. The atmosphere was charming, the staff was excellent, and above all, the food was delicious! I ordered the hanger steak and was amazed at how tender and flavorful it was cooked. If I ever find myself back in Red Hook, I will definitely try to dine here again!
