Dining out with 2 friends and all 3 of us loved the dishes we chose. The service was great and the casual fun ambience all contributed to a great night out. Highly recommend the Tagliatelle Ai gamberi - beautiful fresh Australian prawn pasta. We will definitely choose to dine here again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lido Italia:
Amazing food rubbish services. Seriously what a great food but let down by only one person working front of room. Lots of sorbet and ice creams which were amazing. Outside seating lovely spot but had to sit inside and was like we were forgotten about. View all feedback.
We hadn't been to Lido Italia for a couple of years because the last time we went, the pizzas were average. This restaurant is always packed on a Saturday night, so we decided to try again recently. We ordered two pizzas (mine on a gluten-free base). The gluten-free pizza base was obviously made with potato flour because it tasted like I was eating potato bake with a topping. Hubby's pizza was better, but there's something about the pizzas here - they just don't taste like a traditional Italian pizza. They need more flavour - I don't know what it is. I guess it's so popular because most people just don't know what a traditional Italian pizza should taste like. The restaurant and staff are very nice, welcoming and friendly. If you want a quieter night, eat inside rather than out because it can be very noisy. If we go again, we might try the pasta.
We have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time as it had been highly recommended but couldn't get a booking so were pleased that we persevered and got a table on this occasion. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening on a busy Saturday night. Service was friendly and efficient from start to finish. BYO drinks was a bonus. There is pub with a bottleshop right across the road so no issue to buy drinks if you forget to bring your own. Our group of 3 couples had cappesante (scallops), garlic bread, pizza bread and bruschetta for starters. All were very tasty with the only slight criticism that the bruschetta could have done with more salt or a balsamic dressing. Mains were a standout. I loved my fettuccine marina which had plenty of seafood. The others in our group had pizzas, risotto frutti di mare (also with a generous amount of seafood) and tagliatelle ai funghi porcini (pasta with mushrooms). The pizzas were large enough to be shared by two people. There is lots of activity as the restaurant is also popular for takeaways and the gelateria was doing a busy trade. The bill was approximately $60 per couple including corkage which we felt was very good value. We will definitely make this a regular. Just remember to book early to avoid disappointment.
Why doesn't the restaurant serve wine? That's pretty much all the night was missing. We ended up going across the road and buying a bottle

We had a wonderful meal at this family run restaurant with a friend on Friday night. We shared a delicious starter of seared prawns and polenta, tagliatelle al pesto (with chicken & sun dried tomatoes), Mountjoy pizza and Contadina salad followed by one of the pastries from the cabinet with a scoop of gelato for dessert. The food was delicious and the bill came to $97 for the 3 of us including corkage, which we thought was very good value. It's very popular here so you need to book a table if you come on a Friday and Saturday night, and be prepared to wait for your meals.
