The Steam Wheeler - Renfrewshire

Have been here before when staying at nearby Premier Inn. The place just never stops, all guests were dealt with promptly, tables wiped down and reused. Not much staff but the ones that were there certainly worked hard for their money. They were bright and efficient and that was probably in the busiest hours of their day. Sunday supper. My only negative would be would you consider small portions for people who just cannot manage things like 12 pieces of Scampi, delicious as it was my husband I could easily have shared that portion and maybe even a dessert.

Visited on Wednesday evening with my husband and daughter for a celebratory meal and was excited to see a new menu available. Place was busy but not overly and the staff were as friendly and attentive as ever. Food wise we had the cowboy burger, the new kebab and fries and the new hotdog and fries. Sounds so simple yet the flavours were incredible a taste sensation if you like!! All three of us had food envy and already can’t wait to come back for more. 10/10 keep up the great work guys!!

We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn and wanted an easy meal with no travelling. Always a bit dubious about chain pubs and the food they serve, but this was on the doorstep. I have to say that from the minute we entered we were not disappointed. We hadn’t booked and it was busy, but we were seated with no fuss. Asked to order on the app I am already sweating as I am a fifty something old fart. Not got my readers and I’m technoability (yes it’s a word). Come the rescue. AMY the saint waitress. Takes the full order as she sees I am breaking down. Food comes hot and very well presented for a pub chain. It’s also very tasty. Full bill of two mains and three drinks was £45. This is an excellent pub with great food and staff. Only one minor observation. Get a dark ale or Ruby on the pump. Only because I don’t do IPA. AWESOME service from Amy. (We are not related. She was very good).

The team at Steam Wheeler provided excellent service and food. The carvery, hotdogs, and burgers were all spot on. I will definitely be returning soon.

I was extremely disappointed with the poor customer service at this restaurant. The advertisement stated that children could eat for £1.00 with any adult meal, but this was not the case. If you didn't specifically ask for the discount, you would be charged full price. Additionally, if your child ordered a larger children's meal instead of the smaller option from the children's menu, the discount did not apply. It was very misleading, and when questioned, the staff were unaware of the promotion, despite a large sign outside the pub. I would not recommend this restaurant, as the food was not great either.
