Hananoki Japanese Cafe - Richmond

We enjoyed the food (large portions), polite staff, nice venue! With air conditioner for a hot summer. Recommended!

Went with my family the other night for dinner. It says Hananoki on the outside but it really is a seafood restaurant now. Not sure what game they are playing at. New menu and many items from old menu not on it. Food was terrible....Will not be going again.

Service is awful. All those that arrived after us got served first. Half the order for our first person was never received and they received their meal at least minutes before second person. We had to ask twice where was the meal for second...person. We won't be back.

Very disappointed with overpriced bento boxes and not very good service. Give this place a wide berth as there are better similar restaurants with better food and better prices.

Well this was a night out with friends who have been so supportive during my stay here in Richmond. They had been before with previous owners and enjoyed. This was my first time here. Such a disappointing meal. Service was sloppy, unfriendly and rushed. We...all had teriyaki chicken box each with a dynamite roll. The roll was cold and tasteless. The tempura veg were all cold, as well as the prawn. I expected cold sushi! The teriyaki chicken was tasty but only just warm had a suspicion that these boxes were ready and had sat for some time before coming to the table. To add to this deteriorating evening meal, the miso soup arrived when we had nearly finished the box !!! . Now that was hot ! Jasmine tea was also not refreshing. A sorry excuse for a Japanese resturant. My hosts were bitterly disappointed and will not have coming again. Me, not time I'm in Richmond, Vancouver I'll be giving this place a very wide birth. Authentic Japanese food it WAS NOT . Avoid. Save your money
