My experience at Akbar's King of Curry was excellent. I tried the spicy Karahi Goshi dish with garlic naan and it was delicious. The atmosphere was great and the food was reasonably priced. View all feedback.
What Bethany Murphy doesn't like about Akbar's:
Booked a table for for a family members but the day before the celebration we were informed they had double booked and had a wedding party in. Needless to say, we were frantically trying to find an alternative in a very short time....Never been to this restaurant and never will. How they can double book in today's climate of technology is beyond me. Can't be trusted. View all feedback.
Visited the restaurant with the family have to say it was a very enjoyable experience nice food and excellent service... Nadeem who served our food was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.... Carnt wait to go again.... Thanks akbar's Rotherham....
I have just been to Akbar’s I’m Rotherham and I feel like I have to leave a review right away! To sum it up…the food is delicious and very well cooked. The Cheesy Seekh is amazing I definitely recommend. Staff are very friendly and welcoming...and always on the ball with filling up the water and checking we are okay etc. Staff have a good sense of humour too. Food is reasonably priced which is a bonus! It was my fiancés birthday and they gave us an icecream dessert with a sparkler on the house, they look after their customers!
First time at Akbar's since the start of the pandemic two years ago. OMG I'd forgotten how good it is. The food and service is absolutely first class. The Keralan Gosht is devine, so fresh and every dish unique in it's taste and flavours. Attentive...friendly service. It certainly won't be another two years before we are back.
Without a doubt the best Indian food I have had in a long while, and that's spanning several years, countries and counties. The style of the restaurant is stunning, a bit dark and mysterious, think Dark Chocolate meets Turkish Delight. Such a warm and cosy...feel. With that in mind the restaurant is actually quite large, but you still feel that personal touch. Our waiter was superb, so skilled and professional, on a full-to the roof night he remained attentive, polite and a little bit funny too... not showing aaaaaany signs distress with other guests behind him, even when I'm rambling on with Dad jokes poor fella. The food was out of this world, each dish was unique and flavoursome, with neat party stoppers like the family sharing naan... its an absolute beast. I'm gutted I didn't take any photos We will e back when visiting this area again, without a doubt. Thank you for such a great night.
Usually love akbars and we go to the rotherham bran on a regular basis. Today the food was absolutely Terrible! Popadums we're over cooked and oily. We ordered a chicken sagg and a chicken khari and there was pretty much no sauce it was chicken...drowned in ghee. Half of the curry bowls were just oil, it was inedible. We both left more than half of our curries but no one asked how our meal was or asked us when they collected our plates. We felt very very rushed for a meal for two we couldn't even eat half of it. Disappointed
