Can't fault this restaurant, we tried to get into la fabrik but were rudely turned away and told they were full although the place was empty, (we've since discovered it's a night club and we were a bit 'senior ' for them). So on to this place, with a warm welcome, great cocktails and fantastic pizzas. On the riverfront, converted warehouse.A mix of all ages and was 80s night with DJ playing music. What IanRedfearn doesn't like about Le Maregraphe:
It was close to our hotel and on the quayside. That is the positive side over and done with. Our initial concern at being served quickly was confirmed when we started on our cold dry mussels. Moules mariniere with the onions dumped on top is a real disappointment. Looks as though they are mass cooked and the flavour dumped on top. Expensive for what is a glorified fast food restaurant. Having walked most of the town and then the Seine water front twice we chose this one, well food was adequate and nothing to complain about but overall a bit pricey probably given the location
As two families we ordered several different dishes. The burgers we cooked very rare but were excellent, the pizzas were great and the local hot pot dishes very homely. They sell premium beers which also went down well. We ate outside on the sides of river and it was lovely. The inside decor is very well appointed and thought about. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.
A good location squandered on supermarket food. This is the kind of restaurant I will remember the next time a French friend teases me about English food. Here there is absolutely no attention to detail. Salads comprise dried out slices of cucumber, iceberg lettuce with brown where it has been cut and left to wait, boiled eggs with black rims around the yellow, over cooked pasta, cheap cheese, awful white hamburger buns of the worst quality and handfuls of supermarket pastrami ripped from the packet and thrown undivided on the top of salads. Dire. Don't pretend that because this is in France it is better. It's not. Avoid and move on, to McDonalds if necessary. There are plenty of places in town that will show you a good time, so don't waste your visit on a cheap tart.
Stick to the basic menu of burgers and pizzas. you might be ok. I nearly choked on the chewy grisly steak. Great location, bad food and not great service. Go somewhere else!
