We just happened upon this restaurant as we were walking the grounds of The Myrtles looking at plants ! They had an opening so we decided to try it we were very pleasantly surprised!! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly servers great food!! Farm to table restaurant that partners with local farms !!! We had the burger fries the redfish with crawfish gravy asparagus cornbread dressing ! What Garrett Rau doesn't like about 1796:
Tuna was over very cooked. 2 of us had it and were never asked us how we would like it. Extremely salty. Couldn’t even eat it Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were amazing. Ambiance, drinks, service were good. View all feedback.

Went to celebrate our anniversary, everything was lovely, but once a party of 10 showed up right next to us, it got very loud and obnoxious. We just wanted a quiet dinner together, not really wanted to sit next to a loud party. We will definitely be going back, because there won’t always be a party there, but it would have been nice to move them to another spot away from other diners who may have also wanted a quiet dinner.
We went for a work Christmas dinner and enjoyed ourselves very much. The sweet potato fries are to die for! Steak was very good!
Food was delicious, service impeccable, and amazing ambiance!
Amazing food and service would highly recommend. Definitely do a tour before going to the restaurant reservations are definitely needed.
