Contribute FeedbackCafe Du Nord offers a unique experience that blends old school charm with modern appeal. While the food is fantastic, particularly the burgers and cocktails, the Viking Room's ambiance and decor leave something to be desired according to some patrons. However, others praise the magical feeling of the Viking Room, with its San Francisco vibe and captivating music experience. Despite some mixed reviews on noise levels and service, overall the venue offers a cool and enjoyable atmosphere for live music and entertainment. With a range of indie bands and great shows, Cafe Du Nord is recommended for those looking for a fun night out in a unique setting.
Old school meets new world. Amazing ambiance and music in the very private Viking Room. You can never imagine what you are in for going down that flight of stairs. Pure magic and San Francisco feel. Really recommend this place.
Food was fantastic, especially the burger, and cocktails phenomenal. We'd go back to the bar for both, but the Viking Room has a weird ambiance and deplorable decor. Feels awkward.
This place is fucking terrific and you should go there right now and eat all the food and drink all the drinks.
Former funky music venue with good food transformed into a soul-less, expense account destination. Live background music seems like a weak effort to retain this element with a sign announcing that each diner 's bill will include a surcharge for this mediocre element. Menu very limited and expensive at price points that will eliminate any local regulars. Service was attentive but departed through the empty and equally pricey lower bar with a chill. The ground level bar seemed vibrant and full so if we return, we will stay above ground next time.
This was my first time at Cafe Du Nord since it has opened it's doors post-reno. We came for the oysters and had an overall enjoyable time! The main comment is that it was VERY loud. We were seated next to a rambunctious group, coupled with the extremely loud speakers/band, was not great for conversation. Overall, a cool vibe.
