Russian Renaissance- San Francisco

The authentic Russian cuisine at this restaurant transported my husband back to his time in Saint Petersburg. Despite my online reservation mistakenly falling on a day when they were supposed to be closed for an event, they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel like part of the family.

This restaurant experience was awful. I made a reservation through OpenTable a month in advance for my wife's birthday, only to arrive and find out the restaurant was closed for a private event. Despite receiving regular updates from OpenTable confirming my reservation, the restaurant claimed to have no record of it. It seems this is a common issue, as other OpenTable reviewers also had their reservations taken over for private events. This is a major problem for the restaurant and for OpenTable. Overall, 8 out of 14 reviewers gave Russian Renaissance a 1-star rating for not recognizing reservations.

Great location, tasty Russian cuisine, welcoming service, affordable prices.

Had planned to come here for weeks, drove for 2 hours and made a reservation just in case. Was never told that there would be a private event. It said nothing on the website or they didn't care to give me a heads up. Left disappointed, will try other places instead
