A hidden gem in San Diego. We eat here about 6 times per year. Everything is delicious, and the specials are always noteworthy. Inside dining room has a classy vibe and a nice covered patio in back. Excellent wine list. Excellent desserts. Excellent service. Not low calorie. View all feedback.
What none of my business doesn't like about Baci San Diego:
Food was excellent as has always been. I ordered a special of the day, pork chop. And it was tender and delicious. Home made ravioli as a side dish was cheesy and I loved it. Tough to go there as a singe, but with a family, it is one of the best Italian restaurants in town. View all feedback.
The food is good. The ambience is also good. I was an employee and paid more than $60 for a pan of pasta that I ordered. So much for an employee discount or FAIR price for for food. My family patronized this place for years and I was sadly disappointed that the owner Tony would not postpone his plans for a vacation trip to Mexico to attend my Dad's funeral at USD. I wonder how many people will go on vacation when Tony passes away? I don't sweat the Italians.
This place is a GEM. Hands-down was our favorite place when we lived in the area. It 's well worth the price. I feel as though not too many places can wow you with their dishes in this economy anymore especially with how much you can spend, but this place does. Just amazing flavor and experience. Best place for any special occasion
Took my father here for his 53rd birthday, and it was a lovely experience. Upscale dining atmosphere, elegant, and sophisticated service. We ordered the grilled octopus (a bit chewy), scampi in lobster sauce, and the veal piccata. As well as some delicious espresso martinis. Always a good choice for a birthday, graduation, etc.
Overall nice place, but not worth their high priced menu. Has valet service, $7. Host displayed being overwhelmed and frustrated when making a reservation that wasn't even needed on a Wednesday night and we were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waiter was kind, but not confident about his responses. He also seemed overwhelmed and would check in to ask if we needed anything, but rush off before we could respond to say what we needed (veteran waiter of establishment). Mojito had too much simple syrup. Asked for lemon in water, but didn't get it. Nice candlelit corner booth and quiet atmosphere, but paint chipping on bathroom door. The food was perfectly cooked and prepared nicely, but filet mignon was drowned in salty mushroom sauce. Mussels weren't scrubbed before cooked. Chocolate decadence cake was more like Fudge bar. Restaurant has the demeanor of having been around for a long time that caters to old money presenting high quality dining experience that isn't that high and blurring the lines as well as your vision with great alcohol options. 3 alcoholic drinks, one mocktail, 2 apps, 2 entrees, one dessert=$260?
Good good and friendly staff. Very calm and not too crowded.
