The food was great, the service was great, and the scenery was relaxing. Had a wonderful lunch. We loved being able to get a reservation online and avoided the line View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Prado At Balboa Park:
3 of us had dinner. We were all dissatisfied with our food. One person sent the food back and received another bad choice. We have been season ticket holders of all the Globe theaters for many years and come to the Prado before every play. There have virtually been no menu changes and the food has grown worse with each visit. If not for the proximity to the theater we would have stopped eating at the Prado years ago.
We came in with a part of about 8-9 people and they seated/served us swiftly! It's been a while since the day I ate here, but, if i'm recalling correctly, I ordered the strawberry salad dish with salmon. It was cooked to tenderness and the salad had a nice balance of sweet and savory tones. I remember trying bites of other people food as well and everything was great. Would highly recommend visiting if you're walking around the area. Excellent dining experience with decent prices.
Sitting in the patio area, surrounded by nature, you are transported to a different place! Great place for a date or to enjoy a meal or drinks after visiting Balboa Park. The hamburger and flan were awesome! I rated four stars because the filet mignon was significantly underseasoned. I will definitely return and do recommend to others.
A wonderful restaurant experience. An excellent menu and top-notch preparation. Great friendly, helpful service. Unique atmosphere right on the Prado in Balboa Park. Super destination for a date night or meeting friends.
Nice location and pleasant atmosphere on the patio. We were left a bit disappointed in the quality of the food. Ordered the Chicken BLT and the Mahi-mahi sandwiches. Both had about a 3x1 bread to protein ratio and rather dry. Would either recommend trying an entree or another spot.
The Prado in Balboa Park is in an incredibly beautiful setting. Either outdoors or indoors you can’t go wrong. Service was good with decently quick drink refills. Food was decent it’s pretty standard “cafe” food with the high prices you would expect from the location. If you are in Balboa Park already however, you really couldn’t go wrong with stopping here for lunch or a drink!
