The food was delicious, the fried bananas with black beans were unique but full of flavor. The paella mix was fresh as was the fish in it. The sangria was delicious and I should have ordered another one. Prices were extremely fair and wait staff was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this place to eat!Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What kay anderson doesn't like about Cha Cha Cha:
The food is too spicy for myself but my girlfriend absolutely loves it. She would give it a five star. And the people everywhere else in the restaurant, we're extremely. So if you like spicy you can't go wrong there. The Young Men sitting next to us We were not disappointed when they got there food, they were anticipating it wouldn't be as good as the first time they had it and they we're beyond happy about it. Cha Cha Cha is a vibrant and lively restaurant that truly captures the spirit of the Caribbean. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly transports you to a tropical paradise. The food is a delightful fusion of Caribbean and Latin American flavors, showcasing a diverse and exciting menu that caters to a variety of tastes. One highlight of Cha Cha Cha is their impeccable cocktail selection. The Mojito and Raspberry Beret cocktails, in particular, are absolute standouts. The Mojito is expertly crafted with the perfect balance of fresh mint, lime, rum, and a hint of sweetness. Sipping on this refreshing concoction is like taking a sip of summer itself. As for the Raspberry Beret, its combination of fruity raspberry flavors and a touch of elegance make it a delightful choice for those seeking a unique and flavorful libation. The bartenders at Cha Cha Cha truly know their craft and create cocktails that are both visually appealing and delicious.Aside from the stellar cocktails, the food at Cha Cha Cha is equally exceptional. The menu offers a tantalizing array of dishes, from flavorful jerk chicken and succulent seafood paella to mouthwatering plantains and savory empanadas. Each bite is a burst of vibrant flavors that transport your taste buds to the sunny shores of the Caribbean. The portions are generous, making it a great place to share a meal with friends or family. The service at Cha Cha Cha is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can offer recommendations based on your preferences, ensuring that every visit is tailored to your culinary desires. The only slight drawback to Cha Cha Cha is that it can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. This popularity is a testament to the restaurant's reputation and the quality of its offerings, but it may result in a longer wait time. However, the vibrant ambiance and delicious food make it well worth the wait.In conclusion, Cha Cha Cha is a gem of a restaurant that transports you to the Caribbean with its lively atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and outstanding cocktails. 4.5 STARSI have found memories of Cha Cha Cha as one of THE places in the city to leave drunk, happy, full...AND with leftovers. And, without going broque. I also have fond memories of that sangria...I'm surprised more people didn't leave with their draws over the head! In times of shrinkflation, I'm trying to revisit old haunts that won't break the wallet. Plus, my original review from years ago disappeared into the cloud so here's another one.Cha Cha Cha is a SF institution opened in 1984) serving Cuban and Caribbean Tapas. They're sister resto to Parada 22 and Papito. They're open for takeout, delivery, indoor, and outdoor dining dog friendly). Great side patio set up that's separated by curtains for privacy and shields you from the wind. And, there's overhead heaters to keep you warm. No rezzies, walk in only. Not recommended for large groups unless everyone arrives early and on time. M E N UCuban and Caribbean Tapas. Paellas aside, all dishes are under $17. Full bar but they're best known for their sangria. Beware, it's a creeper. F O O D Calamari Fritto: Fried Calamari w/ chipotle garlic aioli $15): tinyurl.com/ys7cb4bxHot and crunchy rings tentacles with delicious accompanying aiolis. Good for the drunchies. Steamed Mussels w/ garlic, tomatoes, fresh herbs house made fish saffron broth $16): tinyurl.com/4f9sevywFresh, meaty, and plump mussels in a comforting broth. Chicken Paillard: Grilled Chicken Breast w/ dijon mustard cream sauce $14): tinyurl.com/mpscxk4uI'm usually not a fan of breast meat but the marinated chicken breast 3 pc) is tender and moist, soaking up all that creamy and tangy sauce. Cajun Shrimp Sautéed in Spicy Cream Sauce $15): tinyurl.com/ys7cb4bxOne of my fav dishes at Cha Cha Cha...it's all about THAT decadent sauce and using the complimentary crusty sourdough bread to sop up every last drop. BUT, as others have stated, the sauce doesn't taste the same as back in the day. I ordered it twice in a month just to make sure it wasn't an off day. The spices and heat have def been dialed down. Still addictive tho...I just doctor it up with their housemade habanero sauce. Cha3 J Chicken: Marinated chicken thigh w/ habanero peppers, raisins, garlic tomatoes served over white rice $14): tinyurl.com/2r8ftehhMy second fav Cha Cha Cha dish two fork tender bone in thighs smothered in savory and earthy j sauce, served alongside white rice. It's hearty and hits the spot...but the sauce is not as flavorful and spicy as I remember it being. Still a must order for me tho. Fried New Potatoes w/ chili pasilla aioli: tinyurl.com/2r8ftehhSolid staple hot and crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The chili pasilla sauce is creamy with smoky, earthy, and fruity flavors. TIP: Bring home the leftover sauces from the chicken pillard or cajun shrimp to turn into another meal with whatever protein and veggies you have in the fridge. S E R V I C EHit or miss depending on who you get.Julie and Gazi are awesome AND deliver great hospitality. Being the only ones sitting outside, we never felt neglected. However, on my most recent visit, our server took our order and we never saw him again it wasn't busy). I had to go inside to place an additional order and to pay the bill. Julie jumped right in and took care of us. But, all is forgotten because the food comes out fast! Always appreciate that. A M B I A N C ELively and festive. Can be cramped when busy. Avoid Friday and Saturday nights if you want a quieter meal. P A R K I N GTerrible street parking on the weekends...thank goodness for rideshares now. After all these years, Cha Cha Cha is still churning out delicious and wallet friendly eats. The sauces aren't as robust and richly spiced now but easily solved with their housemade habanero sauce. When I can leave full with leftovers...and without breaking the wallet, I'm cool with that.
