UPDATE: the owner and I communicated directly and as noted below from the owner, they have reached out to the city of SF to address the pesky mosquito issues. I am happy to hear this, as we so enjoy dining at LaMed...Owners that care about their establishments and their clients are the best! View all feedback.
Food: 3-4/5Service: 5/5Ambience: 3/5Pricing: 20-25 for lunch)Overall: 3.5/5We stopped by for lunch on a Saturday. No wait and we were able to get seated quickly. They have lunch and brunch menu. We ordered the shakshuka and Lebanese kebeh. The food was okay, nothing special. The kebab wasn't that great, you couldn't really taste the meat maybe it had too many spices or other ingredients) and it was over cooked. The side of soup was really good I think it was chicken and rice). The sides that came with the main dish including the rice was delicious. The bathroom is weirdly located in the kitchen area and I'm not sure how they handle that when the place is busy and packed. The waiter was nice and the location of the restaurant is pretty convenient. I would go back for a quick bite again but it wasn't something very special or memorable.
Amazing food; the chicken pomegranate was tender, the rice well cooked, and the salad a bit too sour to my taste, but well flavored overall huge portion size lots of vegan vegetarian option as well ambience was very cute; both outdoors and indoor seating available service was fast
Interesting food and good dessert. Will definitely recommend the placeVegetarian options: Falafel, soup, humus, dessert
Excellent food, great hospitality. I believe this is a neighborhood gem. Happy we came upon this little place while visiting San Francisco. Came hungry, left fat and happy!
I have never had bad food at La Med and we have been there probably 5 or 6 times, each time just as good as the last.I took my partner for his birthday and tried the variety of small plates option they had at the time and every single one was delicious. The phylo dough pastries are crisp, the fillings not at all soggy, the pomegranate lamb meatballs are soft and springy and sweet, sour, and savory. We have been with our family and tried so many great vegetarian options there as well (the dolmas, the potato salad, the falafel--it's all excellent). This weekend La Med catered our wedding reception and our guests had the same things to say. I brought boxes to hand out for leftover food but in the end, there was next to nothing left to take home! (Except some dolmas, which naturally, we, the bride and groom, had to take home to eat for ourselves when we finally got chance to sit down. And I have to say they were just as soft and aromatic at the end of day as they were at the start).I worked with the catering manager Jeff to submit my order, and he/they were so punctual and on top of everything! I sent them an email with what I wanted and within an hour or two, they sent me a quote and placed my order for me. They even provided cutlery and serving materials AND delivery for an extremely reasonable fee!I am so grateful to La Med and if I ever need a caterer, I will absolutely order but when I don't, I am happy that we live close enough to stop by to just have a lovely dinner.Vegetarian options: Plenty of them.
