Contribute FeedbackBar Tartine offers a set menu at a regular price during special occasions, which some guests may find disappointing. The ambiance is lovely, service friendly, and portions generous. Creative dishes and knowledgeable staff enhance the dining experience. However, the desserts fall short of expectations. Despite this, the cozy atmosphere, romantic setting, and enjoyable wine selection make it a great spot for brunch or dinner. The avant-garde approach to using local and regional ingredients may not suit everyone's taste buds, but those seeking bold culinary experiences will appreciate Bar Tartine's offerings.
We went to the NYE dinner and while the dishes were extremely kreatiw and imaginatiw, I ended up with a rather aggressive stomach pain afterwards, maybe it was the enough of food or meeress fruit dominance, but I did not mix any problems in the ordinary. the ambiente was really nice esp for a romantic occasion. overall no bad experience, but a bit hard faced with a $300 bill for a meal that gave me a bit of pain.
It is unfortunate that San Francisco is losing this iconic restaurant, but it is reassuring to hear that the chefs are embarking on new and exciting projects.
Very disappointing. Strange combinations, none great. No real options on the menu, except that dishes can be converted to vegetarian/vegan. The chef accomodated a gluten free request. The only main course was a lamb stew. One out of four of us found this palatable (barely), so the rest of us went veggie for the night. I wanted to check out this restaurant before they close down since the chef is so highly regarded and they are opening a new restaurant next year. We were not impressed. Doubtful that we will try the new restaurant as a result of this experience.
I didn't realize when I made the reservation that the restaurant was offering a set menu. Despite this, my partner and I decided to give it a try since it was a special evening for us and close to the holiday season. Unfortunately, we weren't overly impressed with the food. While it was tasty and we finished everything, it didn't leave a lasting impact. One positive note was the ambiance, with its cozy wood decor and romantic candlelight. The wine selection was also enjoyable.
I love bar tartine, but when I called for reservations, they told me that it would be the regular price I charged $90/person and had no choice as it was silvester
