My husband and I throughly enjoyed our first Saturday brunch at Cafe del Artista and we will be back! Whether it is breakfast, brunch or lunch, dining in the courtyards or indoors, you are in the midst of fine art; paintings, sculptures, photography and the extraordinary one-of-a-kind Cerroblanco jewelry. (I'm not biased, I own ten pieces.)I had a traditional Italian frittata (7-inches in diameter) that was hot, flavorful and filling. My husband had a hot egg scramble filled with cheese. The bread was warm and served with butter and homemade guava jam made from the guava tree in the interior courtyard. Pepe's sister is the cook, his nephew our waiter, truly a family affair. The prices are very reasonable, 50 pesos for the frittata (about $4 USD) and 20 pesos for coffee. The bill with tip was 180 pesos (about $14 USD).The atmosphere is tranquil and serene. It truly did feel like we were tucked away in a bungalow-restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea.We will be back!
