We had a conference in SOO and decided to try some of the local restaurants. We decided to try the Embers Grill & Smokehouse and it turned out to be a great choice! it's a really nice place for enjoyable dinner with friends and colleagues. Both food and the service were excellent. Definitely worth visiting! :) View all feedback.
What Giovanni Ferri doesn't like about Embers Grill & Smokehouse:
A group of eight of us were given a private room upstairs which was a good idea since we were rather loud! The food was fabulous, the meatloaf in particular. Great wines and wonderful service. Another great find in the Soo. View all feedback.
Ordered a margarita and got a nasty little glass for 10 dollars it was a small martini glass. the burger, who the people say, is super salty with a large plate of speck on them and no sweet (where is the tomato. and salat? . the sweet potato friries are also oversalted. beautiful setting and the server was amazing.
I recently traveled to the sault again. After a disappointing check in at the hotel, I went to Embers where they never disappoint. The steak was perfect, as always, the waitress was friendly, just all round great time. It was soo good I extended my...trip a day just so I could go back. I had the meatloaf the second night. It was huge, lots of potatoes, cooked veggies. Always the best food, You get treated like family every time you go there. I cant wait for my next trip. I'll see you guys soon!!
Based on a recommendation from a local Sault Ste. Marie shop owner, we walked to this restaurant from an Airbnb we are staying in downtown. Our dinner was really fantastic. Service was great, both attentive and very friendly. The setting warm and comfortable, in small...separate rooms. The menu offered a good variety of locally sourced food. And everything was incredibly well prepared. We started with one dozen Atlantic oysters, served with lemon and the restaurant’s balsamic hot sauce. They were fresh and well shucked, and very tasty, although one of the 12 likely should not have been served (it was a bit funky looking and tasting). Our mains were the Hanger Steak with baked potato, and the Angry Seafood, both exceptional. The steak, ordered rare, was perfectly prepared and seasoned, and was melt in your mouth tender. The seafood dish included shrimp, scallops, muscles and two lobster tails in tomato sauce, and served with deep fried polenta sticks and crispy bread. It too was very tasty, and both dishes were beautifully presented. We also shared a side Caesar salad which was fresh, beautifully plated, and featuring smoked bacon. Dinner for two, including a martini (served in a gorgeous glass sitting on ice) and a glass of Ontario Pinot Noir to accompany the seafood, with tax and tip came to $160, well worth it for an excellent dinner. We’d recommend Embers for a luxurious dining experience.
We came for dinner around 8:30 and ended up staying until 11:00-11:30 with no complaint from the amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Our waiter, Dave, made helpful suggestions and really enhanced the already amazing dinner experience. He was humorous and frank without being negative. We...were also impressed with his knowledge of the menu and ability to cite descriptions of the specials. The special I had included steak (rare! with bone marrow, potatoes, broccolini, and a lightly breaded mushroom. The only critique I could give is that the mushroom probably didn’t need as much seasoning as it had on account of the natural saltiness from the meat worked well with it... but I gobbled it all up! ... in addition to two 2-dollar oysters, and the incredibly scrumptious scallops. (Eat the garnish! Perfect balance of bacon, lemon, fennel! This is the best meal I have had in a long time. (And I like to eat pretty well... Husband’s New York Steip was also fantastic and I even ate some of his mussels, which I usually never touch. I could go on and on, but please just try for yourself! Delish!
Amazing food. Locally sourced, affordable and did I say amazing. Homemade chicken fingers for the kids was unbeatable. If you are around, you must come here
