What Tyler Owen doesn't like about Congee Queen:
I was intrigued to try this restaurant as it is close to my home. The restaurant appeared clean and I received a friendly welcome at the door. I ordered the hot and sour soup, which was delicious, and a beef curry with rice for just over $20. However, I was disappointed with the curry as it lacked flavor and I prefer spicy food. This was our first visit to the restaurant since the pandemic, and I was impressed by the thorough cleaning measures in place. They now use a single laminated menu, which is sprayed and wiped down after each use, rather than a large menu book with pages that wouldn't be cleaned. While all menu items were present, the photos of dishes were missing. I appreciated that they clean the menu after every use and no longer have bottles of hot sauce on the tables. Instead, they provide small portions in individual containers. The tables are spaced out, with a wide aisle for people to move around safely. I was surprised to see that they even disinfect each chair at nearby tables. The food quality was as expected, meeting the standards we have come to appreciate. Although there is no special dessert for VIP card holders, they still offer a 10% discount. Overall, I was impressed with the high cleaning standards and will definitely be returning to dine again.
We do not recommend this restaurant at all. The wait staff pressures customers to leave tips, even when they are dissatisfied with the service. They do not deserve it, as we often have to repeatedly ask for water. Additionally, credit card tipping is mandatory. This practice should be optional, not enforced by the wait staff. The customer service is really poor and we will not be returning. Furthermore, we have noticed low-quality or even contaminated meat used in our orders. Our advice to management is to improve customer service and not pressure patrons for tips. Word of mouth can make or break a business, so it is in your best interest to treat customers with respect. We will be sharing our negative experience on social media. You only have a small amount of business, so it is important to improve in order to retain customers.

I didn't specify my preference for spicy food and would like to try other dishes next time. The restaurant was busy and I found out that the curry had paprika and was coconut-based, which I wouldn't have ordered if I had known. I spoke to another customer who had been waiting and he mentioned how much he enjoys the food and how clean the restaurant is.
We had a good day-to-day congeal, reisnudel, fish tofu, in this lively restaurant . there are many people in line-up, but that is not too long. As soon as we pass in our order, it came to eat quickly.
We were here in August and were very surprised at how large the food portions are. It is reasonably priced for the heaping plates. Service was super quick. I have not been to a restaurant with food on the table in five minutes. Decor is...a bit too dark.
